Kyle Rittenhouse due in court Tuesday for likely final motion hearing

Kyle Rittenhouse, who shot three people in Wisconsin during unrest over the police shooting of Jacob Blake, is due in court Tuesday — where a judge is expected to rule on his request to call a self-defense expert in his upcoming trial.

Attorneys for the Illinois man are expected to argue in a Kenosha County courtroom that such use-of-force testimony is pivotal to Rittenhouse’s defense that he needed to protect himself from possible death or serious injury, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Rittenhouse shot three people, including two fatally, in Kenosha with an AR-15-style rifle last August amid riots and protests over the police shooting of Blake, who was left paralyzed from the waist down.

The teen, then 17, has maintained he shot and killed Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber and wounded Gaige Grosskreutz while acting in self-defense during the Black Lives Matter protest.

It’s all on video. And the videos make it Crystal clear. They can try to spin why he was there all they want but the bottom line is there is no way he can be found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Not even close. The only thing they have against him is his carrying a gun at his age. And that’s only a technicality because of how close he was to the line.

Additionally, Gaige Grosskreutz had a pistol and dropped it not long after that shooting. Even Wikipedia admits that.

Uhh, why would a judge have a say in who anyone calls as an expert witness? This is wrong. The jury can decide what they think of any witness during deliberations.

I watched all the videos and this was/is text book self defense.

He then shot Huber and Grosskreutz as they seemingly approached him

"Seemingly approached him"? Huber swung his skateboard at Rittenhouse's skull and just missed, before taking a bullet in his deserving gut. Then Grosskreutz raised his arms to appear harmless, but then swung his gun into position to take out Rittenhouse with a point blank headshot. Fortunately Rittenhouse shot him in the arm before he could take the shot, rendering Grosskreutz harmless and sobbing like a sad schoolgirl.

I disagree. Expert witnesses are necessary on some cases, and this case is one of them. The judge must rule on any Daubert challenge (i.e., an expert witness must be qualified to render his or her opinion; it is intended to prevent the trial from turning into a mockery).

The guys shot weren’t armed or anything. Or coming at Kyle. And this didn’t happen during a lefty BLM riot. While the cops were ‘standing down’. None of that is in the article.

You obviously have not watched the video, nor listen to the first hand report from a reporter at the scene. The first individual tried to take his rifle from him. Now, I know LA is all weird and $hit, but, in Normalville, the act of trying to take his weapon and the fear it could then be turned on himself, makes it self-defense, the second individual did have a weapon, a skateboard, which he used to try and strike the defendant. Self-defense. Every State has different law regarding self-defense. In my State, there would never have been a trial or arrest.
