Food shortages were reported to be spiking across the country Tuesday as President Joe Biden struggles to resolve the supply chain crises crippling the nation.
“People are hoarding [food],” CEO and founder of Saffron Road, a producer of frozen and shelf-stable meals, Adnan Durrani told the Seattle Times. “What I think you’ll see over the next six months, all prices will go higher.”

If you grew it and canned it, dried it, or froze it, its not hoarding and you and you neighbor are just swapping!
True tagline!
what do you call people who hoard toilet paper?
asswipes
Bought a freeze dryer with our first stimulus check. All leftovers have been freeze dried and stored. Our garden is about over and I’ve freeze dried everything we could eat except the lettuce. I’ve got basil, chives, garlic and onion powder all made up for this winter. Cabbage, broccoli, peppers and Brussel sprouts. Canned the tomatoes. Working on the squash, potatoes, and apples now. Should be good all winter long. Every roast, meatloaf, lasagna, casserole that’s left over goes right in. Best investment I’ve ever made.
Prepper Ping. Food shortages blamed on “hoarders” when we know it’s a jab mandate induced labor shortage and remnants of $300/wk on top of unemployment which I think has ended almost everywhere. Some people got used to the lockdown lifestyle of a single income family too which also adds to the labor shortage. Food stamps increased by 25% in Oct also helps labor shortage. ALL were the fault of governments.
I’ve got meat goats. You gonna eat those horses?
There isn’t a problem that Mother Government cannot invent, then claim to fix, thereby making things even worse!
Grrrrr!
Let’s go Brandon!
Horse meat isn’t bad. Not a lot of fat, but grills up nice.
BitWielder1 :"What's next? Blame the hoarders (i.e. people who prepare).
It's coming."

Checking stores we got 90 days of food, water, etc.
Our ammo supply I fear will last only 30 days.
No problem. I have more Jack Daniels than my neighbor, Steve. He has more ammo than we do, but less Jack.
We shall share a foxhole.

Locals farmers should open self picking for the public. It won’t save everything but will save some. Plus they could charge much more.
True that.
They know what’s important ; )
I agree with you but it is California. They’ll pass a law making it illegal.
That is thee most eff’d up state in the whole USA. And there is a lot of bad ones.
My neighbors have the skills to garden and such they just don’t anymore. They have the setup to do it, including coops/barns. But I put aside extra heirloom seeds I save, and I keep a rooster and billy goat so I can provide them with animals to raise and a means to garden if things get really bad.
Reminds me of a story a friend told me one. He owned a gun shop in New Mexico years back and the local guys tended to hang out and shoot the breeze there. One day they were talking about their prepping and each laid out all the stuff they'd accumulated. Then they asked my buddy what he'd done. "Nothing". They couldn't believe it. So he explained. "Well, I know what all you guys have and I have all the guns so I'll just get what I need from you."
They were not amused.
