Like all rational Americans, I was happy with the results of the Virginia gubernatorial election this past Tuesday. However, I’m not optimistic, one reason being that a photo-finish victory against a sleazy establishment bagman in a state that a decade ago was reliably red is an indication that we dodged a bullet rather than pulled ahead of the pack.
Youngkin’s surprise comeback can be attributed solely to the freak occurrence of the issue of critical race theory arising at just the right time in just the right place to swing just enough votes his way. A month, or a county, in either direction might well have nullified this accidental advantage.
Will Youngkin keep his word and take on critical race theory in schools? We shall see. Roughly half of Virginia voters apparently have no problem with their kids’ schools operating as racist indoctrination centers, and who knows how many “Republican” Mitt Romneys and John McCains will sit in this upcoming 51-49 legislative session. Still, I wanted to gauge the reaction of both sides before I offered any commentary.
So it's been a few days. How are Leftists translating this election?

For me, that isn’t even a question.
As a well known conservative has been heard to say:
Republicans may not solve all of your issues. But Democrats are definitely the cause of nearly all of them.
I will consider voting for someone with an “R” after their name. But I will not, under any circumstances consider voting for anyone with a “D” after their name.
Tulsi Gabbard is a good example. She is positioning herself as some kind of moderate, but she votes with the Leftists nearly as a block every single time when she votes. And the things she votes “PRESENT” (did not vote) on are just as revealing in this sample below:
**************************************************
U.S. Rep. Gabbard
voted for:
U.S. House Joint Resolution 46
Terminate border wall emergency declaration
To terminate President Trump’s declaration of an emergency at the U.S.-Mexican border, which allowed him to bypass Congress and re-allocate funds to build a border wall.
Passed 245 to 182 in the U.S. House of Representatives on February 25th, 2019
U.S. Rep. Gabbard
voted for:
U.S. House Bill 1644
Re-impose federal net neutrality rules
To reinstate Federal Communications Commission rules that would regulate Internet service providers as public utilities. The rules would prohibit providers from offering pricing models that let websites or customers pay more to get faster speeds; prohibit providers from blocking or “throttling” the speed of certain websites; and impose other restrictions how providers may manage their networks.
Passed 232 to 190 in the U.S. House of Representatives on April 9th, 2019
U.S. Rep. Gabbard
did not vote on:
U.S. House Bill 4617
Expand restrictions on online campaign ads, regulate foreign involvement in elections
To expand federal regulations and restrictions on online political communications, mandate that social media companies keep detailed records on individuals and organizations sponsoring political ads, require political campaigns to report offers of foreign assistance, prohibit foreign nationals from contributing to ballot initiative and referendum campaigns, increase restrictions on U.S. political campaigns soliciting support from foreign entities, and make it a federal crime to mislead voters about the time and place for voting and qualifications to vote.
Passed 227 to 181 in the U.S. House of Representatives on October 22nd, 2019
U.S. Rep. Gabbard
did not vote on:
U.S. House Bill 4
Mandate federal approval before some states can change voting practices
To mandate that states or local governments must get approval of the federal government before they make changes to voting practices in certain circumstances. This mandate for federal “pre-clearance” would apply to any state that has had 15 or more voting rights act violations in the past 25 years. The mandate would apply to local governments that have had at least 3 voting rights act violations in the past 25 years.
Passed 228 to 187 in the U.S. House of Representatives on December 5th, 2019
U.S. Rep. Gabbard
did not vote on:
U.S. House Resolution 755
Impeach President Trump for abuse of power
To impeach President Donald Trump for abusing his power in calling for the announcement of a Ukrainian investigation of a political rival (Joe Biden) in exchange for a meeting with the president and the release of previously-approved foreign aid. Upon passage of these articles of impeachment, the Senate will now hold a trial on removing the president from office, which would require approval by a two-thirds majority of senators present for the vote.
Passed 230 to 197 in the U.S. House of Representatives on December 17th, 2019
U.S. Rep. Gabbard
did not vote on:
U.S. House Resolution 755
Impeach President Trump for obstruction of justice
To impeach President Donald Trump for obstructing justice by directing White House officials to defy subpoenas and otherwise obstructing an impeachment investigation being held by the House of Representatives. Upon passage of these articles of impeachment, the Senate will now hold a trial on removing the president from office, which would require approval by a two-thirds majority of senators present for the vote.
Passed 229 to 198 in the U.S. House of Representatives on December 17th, 2019
U.S. Rep. Gabbard
voted for:
U.S. House Concurrent Resolution 83
Direct President Trump to end hostilities against Iran
To adopt a non-binding House resolution directing President Trump to end military action in or against Iran unless Congress authorizes such action.
Passed 224 to 194 in the U.S. House of Representatives on January 8th, 2020
U.S. Rep. Gabbard
voted against:
U.S. House Bill 6172
Renew foreign surveillance authorization
To renew provisions of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) that permit the federal government to collect business records and other information during national security investigations without a warrant. The FISA law allows a federal judge to approve such collections without notifying the target or hearing opposing arguments. The bill would also to expand the circumstances that require FISA judges to hear from a government-appointed critic of such requests, and increasing the number of FISA courts.
Passed 278 to 136 in the U.S. House of Representatives on March 10th, 2020
U.S. Rep. Gabbard
voted for:
U.S. House Bill 6201
Provide federal aid for coronavirus economic impacts
To mandate that businesses with fewer than 500 employees offer paid sick leave for two weeks, increase federal unemployment insurance payments to the states by $1 billion, provide more federal money for food aid programs, prohibit the Trump Administration from strengthening social welfare benefit work requirements, and provide waivers to insurance companies to give no-cost coronavirus tests, among other things.
Passed 363 to 41 in the U.S. House of Representatives on March 13th, 2020
**************************************************
She voted to get rid of the wall, she voted to remove surveillance, she voted for coronavirus BS, she voted for net-neutrality
She ABSTAINED from Impeaching, formalizing federal changes to voting processes (allowing states to make it up on the fly), and regulation of allowing foreign interference in elections.
But Tulsi Gabbard has a number of Freepers fooled, you can imagine how it is out in the non-Freeper world.
Just like the federal employees...we need to change the rules!! IT’s the peoples PARTY! Not the establishment! So I go guess we go straight to the board. Right? And if they don’t do diddly squat we vote them out correct?
“So a flip that can be blamed on an incompetent candidate like McAuliffe is akin to other liberal states like Maryland occasionally electing a Republican governor. “
Hogan is no Hero.
I poked around the numbers a little bit. A lot more Biden voters sat it out than Trump voters. I’m sure some of them were non-existent, but it was a significant number.
I did my own research. Lots and lots of missing votes (voters LOL).
I looked at 3 counties over the last few elections.
Loundoun County
McAuliffe - 87,000
Younkin 70,000
Biden 138,000 (HOLY CRAP!)
Trump 82,000
Clinton 100,000
Trump 70,000
2012
Obama 81000
Romney 74000
Henrico County
McAuliffe - 80,000
Younkin 55,000
Biden 116,000 (WTF??)
Trump 63,000
Clinton 93000
Trump 59000
Obama 90,000
Romney 70,000
Red counties though - went red. But there are no spikes to say. The Rs and Ds are steady.
Halifax
McAuliffe - 5000
Younkin 8500
Biden 7500
Trump 10,500
Clinton 6,000
Trump 9,000
Obama 7,500
Romney 8,500
I was not commenting on how he ran. I was only referring to the way he’ll govern.
Until the GOP-e stops listening to BushCo and the talking heads, this is how its going to be.
Get off your behinds, work for your pay and listen to your base.
Oh and get rid of Turtle...NOW!
RE: Loundoun County
McAuliffe - 87,000
Younkin 70,000
This tells me the following about Loundoun County:
1. The majority of voters do not believe that parents are responsible for what their children learn in school, preferring to trust the School Board to decide for them.
2. The majority of voters don’t care that the School authorities covered up a transgender raping a girl.
3. The majority of voters want Critical Race Theory to be taught in schools.
We JUST re-elected Turtle, you know lesser of two evil rule, SPIT!! WE NEVER LEARN!!! Give the stinking seat to a Dem for the 6 years THEN OUST the Dem NO PAIN NO GAIN plain and simple!!! This SOB will be in his seat till he is carried out in a casket BECAUSE we keep re-electing him!! WE ALL get exactly what we deserve, this POS stabbed Trump in the back at every turn YET we re-elected him!!
I surmise that you will be mistaken, just like you were here: https://freerepublic.com/focus/news/4008803/posts?page=3#3
Dude... point out the obvious all you want. It won’t make too much difference. There are still folks around here that think the jersey color means something. They have not grasped the simple fact that the game has been rigged for 35 years...
Heads, The Club wins... Tails, The Club wins... and if you gotta ask what the club is, you ain’t in it.
he still has a dem senate. prob best he can do is hold the line.
Definitely - One news segment last Tuesday highlighted the VA election integrity policies implemented since last year. Poll watchers was one of several.
IMHO, the warning signs are there. Youngkin was allowed to win. I note it was real close, and no calls for any audits.
Yep... they don't disappoint, do they. Just two days after the win on Tuesday, one clown was connecting Youngkin to Soros, for the dread deed of.... *GASP*.... working with the Carlyle Group.
"DEMOCRATS STAND WITH TEACHER'S UNIONS - - REPUBLICANS STAND WITH PARENTS".
It's a winning message.
It tells me there are many voters who really dont know what they are voting for - but that’s nothing new.
The D’s have a larger “dumb-ass”, ignorant voting block than the Rs.
