Hate crimes in Los Angeles increased by 20 percent last year, hitting a 10-year high as racially and sexually motivated crimes jump in cities nationwide.
A report from the L.A. County Commission on Human Relations published on Wednesday showed that 635 hate crimes were reported in Los Angeles in 2020, up from 530 in 2019. This marked the largest number of reported hate crimes in the area since 2008.
Among racially-motivated hate crimes, Black people, who account for just 9 percent of county residents, were disproportionately targeted, accounting for 42 percent of the incidents reported. Overall, anti-Black hate crimes were up 35 percent in 2020.

Don’t believe it for a second. All those assaults on asians were committed by blacks.
I've often thought the same thing myself, although I might vote guilty of the crime itself, but not the hate crime part. Of course during the jury selection process the prosecution would likely be able to exclude us from the jury.
They don’t mention that it’s Hispanics fighting back against black crime, basically some black guy acosts some latina and her boyfriend beats the snot out of him

Best solution is, defund the police. Oh, and single party state. Maybe gun control. And make sure it's all carbon neutral, and LGBTQ.
I am pretty sure the majority of supposed hate crimes against blacks were by Hispanics.
What's a hate crime and how do police define it? Who is motivated to report them? Are there groups not reporting "hate crimes?" What kind of crimes are so-called "hate crimes?"
By definition, they don't measure anything tangible and are highly political. How can anyone trust that such statistics are scientific?
Impossible. Los Angeles is a diverse, majority-minority city.
Maybe with Defund movement we can downsize the categorical definition growth.
Hate crime? what, where, when, how?
Instead, save departmental resources and proceed with inquiry into (for example):
I like the Brits use of ABH & GBH.
Punishment designed around harm to the physical person and proceed from there.
Saves resources.
