I agree with your assessment. My parents should get it. My 3 kids should not. My kids all got the Vid within 4 days of each other. They live together. Even the Vaccinated one got it. All sick for 4-5 days with flue like symptoms. Nothing more.
No idea. Gross incompetence on the part of the CDC, a failure to admit they are wrong about the treatment protocols, a reluctance to spend money on monoclonal antibodies on the part of Federal and State authorities, etc. IIRC Florida paid for that all out of its own funds.

Very few people are dying of covid in CA right now, proportionately - it is in the ballpark of “dying with covid” moreso than “dying of covid”, approaching a normal death-rate. CA is in the “living with it” stage that we are all going to end up in.
Ok then. So my choice not to be vaccinated should have nothing to do with the spread of Covid to the vaccinated.
It’s not my responsibility to protect the vaccinated. That’s the vaccine’s job.
But wait! There’s more! If the vaccinated catch Covid from another vaccinated person then whose fault is that? If vaccinated should catch Covid from un-vaccinated then who is responsible? Vaccine or un-vaccinated? Heck, if I catch Covid from a vaccinated person who’s fault is that?
But that’s fine. Whatever. The vaccine whore’s have their own agenda and nothing matters but getting the vaccine.
Vaccine’s prevent disease. And this one clearly doesn’t. Which is not unusual. Because there has never been an effective vaccine for any Covid variant. Like the common cold.....

So what is up with the vaccinated thinking they have the right to dictate to the un vaccinated that they have to take the jab. I.E. mandates? Or just generally “you’re the reason that we still have Covid.”
I maintain it is gross incompetence. That is an unaccountable bureaucracy that is trying to pursue its internal goals without reference to doing what should be its job. IMHO, that’s why they maintained the gain of function work through other channels, because its some persons or sub-groups rice-bowl. They have probably got, from decades back, a funding stream and career incentives to do this stuff, so that’s what they had to continue to do.
Sears said that supporting a sensible approach does not mean she opposes the vaccine.

That’s the hysteria talking. Or politicians exploiting the hysteria, or others acting defensively vs the hysteria (employers mandates).
