The federal government plans to send 44 military medical workers to Michigan to assist hospitals treating coronavirus patients during a fourth surge that has become the worst in the nation, according to state health officials.
“It also will open beds at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Detroit for transfers. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer sought the assistance at the request of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association,” the Associated Press (AP) reported Wednesday.

Finally some good policy! We can use the military for medical duty in the winter, and that frees them up for container ship duty in the spring, and then they can harvest the wheat in the summer and fall!

“Well, I never did one of these colonoscopies before but they gave me this little illustrated booklet about it so I’m game if you are. Lemme give this a try.”
Someone said of this sort of replacement help that even an experienced nurse sent over from another hospital has to learn the codes and the ways to get histories of the patients and how to record every detail they perform later. It’s not like a summer camp diary. Would take a long time to become fully useful.
Do we not have an Army or Air National Guard with qualified personnel here in the state of Michigan? I know those aren’t military vehicle enthusiasts that I see either going north or south on I-75 sometimes.
I live in Michigan. Whitmer assured us under the total mandatory lockdowns in 2020 and later with the utopian vax jab solution to end Covid, that she is “following the science.” Bragged loudly about “all lives we saved.”
Then how is Michigan now Number One in Covid? And Florida is last in Covid cases per capita in the US?

They had better make damn sure that that VA hospital has a plentiful supply of monoclonal antibodies and that they take steps to catch any cases that are spread to our veterans early!
My thought also.
They can get people out to herd us, but they can’t lift a
finger to stop rioting, looting, burning, and murdering.
44 is a drop in the bucket.
And how many of the cases are nosocomial?
It’s likely that health systems have fired the folks with the best immunity and now have employees who are in essence vaxx generated Typhoid Marys.
Vitamin D. Florida is sunnier than Michigan this time of year.
Plus, there’s the mental health aspect of not living under a despotic Democrat governor.
This looks like a win-win for the Democrats: Governor Whitmer gets to deflect any criticism to the federal government while the federal goverment gets to kill off all those Republican vetetans.

At this point, shouldn’t we be calling it the feral government?
Vax mandates are a problem here. Hospitals are short staffed for that reason. Fewer overnight stays for surgeries because there is no one to monitor the patients.
Does capacity mean lack of beds, or lack of caregivers?
Do the snowbirds take the virus with them to FL?

Yes, but you see those people are also medical people in civilian life as well.
When you have a national guard medical person who is also a medical person in civilian life you do not have two people, you still have only one.
