Brooks: Dems ‘Were Right to Try to Be FDR’
Breitbart ^ | 12/18/2021 | Ian hatchett

On Friday’s “PBS NewsHour,” New York Times columnist David Brooks stated that Democrats “were right to try to be FDR, try to do something big” with the Build Back Better reconciliation bill.

Brooks said that if the new inflation numbers in January show an increase in inflation, that will make passing the bill far more difficult. “Because Joe Manchin’s really concerned about inflation and federal spending boosting that. I think — in retrospect, I think they were right to try to be FDR, try to do something big, there are a lot of problems in this country, and try to address them.”

FDR= racist dem president who ripped Americans from their homes, businesses, churches and put them in internment camps.

2021 Dems = racist party who wish to rip unvaxxed Americans from their homes, businesses, homes and put them in internment camps.

I believe this is what brooks is referring to.

FDR’s Democrats had a 20 seat lead in the Senate and almost 200 in the House in 1933 - not tied in the Senate and 5 seats in the House.

Sure. They can barely STEAL more than a slim majority, but that gives them the right to change the whole country? FU Brooks.

Did FDR's obscene expansion government help anything?

Some say it actually prolonged the depression.

But then, the Democrat Party would consider that a good thing.

A long time ago I would try to catch “Shields and Gigot” on Friday evenings. Then Brooks came along as the supposed conservative but it seemed that all he did was trash Republicans. I haven’t watched it for a long time but caught the last minute yesterday—have no idea who the other pundit was.

“Full retard” is right. This country has very few problems that money will solve. Brooks is nothing more than a dim bulb propagandist for a fascist corporate machine that can’t exist without a massive government partner.

I despise FDR and what he stood for but there were at least a couple of actions resulting from his largesse that actually did something. The WPA - Works Progress Administration and the CCC- Civilian Conservation Corps. WPA built new public buildings all over the south and the CCC did a lot of work in Georgia and Alabama, many of their efforts can be seen near state parks, etc. They were mainly jobs creators providing work for untold numbers of out-of-work people.

Today? The Democrats WPA and CCC are nothing but Union get-well packages and climate change edicts so ridiculous it isn’t even funny...

On May 9, 1939, FDR’s Treasury Secretary stated publicly “The New Deal is a failure. All we have done is spend money, without reducing the unemployment rate.” (paraphrased, but I know I’m close)

I remember the date, it was 15 years prior to the day I was born. It was in the book, The Forgotten Man, by Amity Schlaes. It’s a biography of the Great Depression.

It would be better that Chinese-made solar cells are used in China to replace coal than in the USA to replace natural gas.

Making the dollar nearly worthless is a problem to be avoided.

The dollar is the very backbone of the USA’s economic infrastructure.

At first I thought they were quoting Darrell Brooks. (He is the BLM fanatic who ran over Grandmother’s and kids at a Christmas parade).
