Candace Owens says Trump believes in vaccines because he ‘only reads mainstream news’ and is not on the internet
The Independent via MSN ^ | 12/25/21 | Andrew Feinberg

Right-wing podcast host Candace Owens says former president Donald Trump’s recent vocal support for Covid-19 vaccines can be explained by his generation’s experience with inoculations and his lack of familiarity with the internet.

During an appearance on Owens’ podcast and YouTube show on Wednesday, Mr Trump defended the effectiveness of the jabs in preventing hospitalisation and death.

After Owens — who has called the lifesaving vaccines “pure evil” and claimed that one would “never” be injected into her — said people were “questioning” the shots’ effectiveness, Mr Trump interrupted her to defend the jabs developed with funding from his administration under “Operation Warp Speed”.

Might as well toss DeSantis there too. But we still have Romney!

You would think someone close to Trump would be more in the know.

It takes lots of time and work to find the truth. This is why one needs advisers you can trust.

He’s formed his own opinions. That’s his right. His opinion would be partly firmed from having been nearly taken out by covid himself.

No, looks like she correctly assessed that he has less information than many of us on one topic. He was surrounded by government bureaucrats who monopolized his day, ran his schedule, and ran a severe gatekeeper operation over what he saw. I bet he or any president is lucky to get 20 minutes a day to read things like we do.
I doubt she no longer supports him.

The other side of this is that he’s dealing with voters who mostly get their information from TV, too.

For all the damn good reasons to be very cautious about these “vaccines” and to openly oppose the stupid mandates we see imposed all over the place, let’s keep in mind that the typical swing voter in the U.S. today is a suburban dingbat Karen with an IQ of 90 who would tie a plastic bag over her head if Joe Biden said it was an effective way to stop the spread of COVID.

“Looks like she’s tossing Trump under the bus.”

Ridiculous. She is not tossing, she is explaining.

It almost sounds like President Trump is a bit like my dad. He’s 84 and utterly refuses to join the 21st Century. He will not get a computer, even though it would allow him to connect with our relatives across the country. He also thinks that newspapers are among the “BEST” way to get news...because that’s how HIS dad got it. He does watch Fox News, so there is that.

I don’t know if President Trump uses the Internet himself, but if he did, he needs someone to direct him to the best sources for news. Yes, I’m thinking FR.

“ I think that he just relies on, you know, typical mainstream sources, so I don’t think that there’s anything evil going on there”.

That doesn’t necessarily line up tho. Trump has always been one to call out the MSM when they lie. Trump trusts his advisors and he’s not getting the full story. Perhaps some is pride because he backed it. Either way, I believe in the constitution not a man. And there should not be mandates. There should also be the free flow of information for proper consent.

Nails it.

It's his generation. President Trump is a voracious reader of printed media.

Every morning before dawn, according to current and former White House officials, Trump has four daily newspapers — The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal and the New York Post — delivered to the White House residence.

I agree. His advisors have a lot to do with it. Kayleigh McEnany Is pro vax too. But, her father is not. She’s on IG. Not sure if you’ve seen any of her family videos, But, her dad is awesome.

I think he’s correct , for 65+ folks.
Candace age and younger? No. Teens and younger? Definitely No.

Mandate? Absolutely not.

I bet he or any president is lucky to get 20 minutes a day to read things like we do.

Should have plenty of time now. He could read RFK Jr's book and/or Peter Breggin's book. Both and fully sourced by backing documents. Breggin says Operation Warp Speed, minus the name, was planned a decade ago and Moderna was working on their COVID-19 vax before covid got released/escaped. I haven' gotten his book yet but saw an interview of him talking about the book. I did buy the kindle version of RFK Jr's book. Both are $2.99 in kindle format and you can read them directly on amazon without the need for a kindle device. You can also install a kindle reader program for Windows, Mac and as phone apps.

Both of them are doing a great service by selling the ebook for $2.99.

Trump could also scan the headlines on BonginoReport.com, LibertyDaily, WhatFinger etc. He could watch Bannon. He must just be watching the MSM/fox.

Guess he doesn't even have Fox Nation else he'd learn some things from Tucker Carlson Today. He interviewed RFK Jr and a few other people regarding covid and the vaxxes.

Want to be president but have no clue what half or more of your base thinks? ok

We have a half a dozen allegedly conservative pols that dare to go against the leftist narrative. Most won't even speak of the Jan 6th political prisoners. That's f-ed.

Regardless- if Trump doesn’t use the internet, he has friends, family, advisors who do use it. He should be better informed about the vaccine and the legitimate concerns it’s raised.
