The parents of a transgender teenager in Texas said in a lawsuit filed Tuesday that the state is investigating them after Republican Gov. Greg Abbott ordered officials to look into reports of gender-confirming care for kids as abuse.
The parents of the 16-year-old girl are asking a judge to block the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services from investigating them and the parents of other transgender youth under a directive Abbott issued last month.
The lawsuit marks the first report of parents being investigated following Abbott’s order and an earlier nonbinding legal opinion by Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton labeling certain gender-confirming treatments as “child abuse.”
The lawsuit doesn’t name the parents, but said the mother works at DFPS on the review of reports of abuse and neglect. The day of Abbott’s order, she asked her supervisor how it would affect the agency’s policy, according to the lawsuit.
Abbott’s directive and the attorney general’s opinion go against the nation’s largest medical groups, including the American Medical Association, which have opposed Republican-backed restrictions filed in statehouses nationwide.

The reporter plays the Artful Dodger and never actually tells us who believes what? Are the parents pushing their child to take gender comfirming drugs or are they trying to prevent it?
A simple statement either way would have cleared this lingering cloud up in one second.
I’m just guessing the parents ARE ‘encouraging’ their child to take these drugs, because they think it’s what she wants.
If Mom is a Social Wrkr, she is surrounded by such advocates every day.
A. Texas passed a law to protect kids by forbidding parents and doctors from doing the gender confused brainwashing thing.
B. The parents of a boy who thinks he's a girl is suing Texas over it.
C. The boy's mother works for Texas' DFPS (Dept of Family and Protective Services). That, to me, is the scariest part of the story. Someone who plays along with the gender confused brainwashing stuff is in the position to take kids away from good parents if the parents disagree with her line of thinking.
I clicked the link and read the article. The child is a biological boy who is taking puberty blockers.
I got an ad for ‘puberty blockers” on Youtube yesterday. Big Pharma is pushing this insanity to bolster their already disgusting bottom line.
Neither does “gender-confirming care for kids”.
Look into this family and you’ll find at least one pedophile. That’s why they’re fighting the investigation.
It must be very easy to obtain them. Sometimes what one does to their hormones cannot be undone. Blood pressure problems, headaches, tummy troubles, mood swings may be there to stay for a while.

The article makes it sounds 180 degrees opposite what it seems to be.
It seems Abbott is coming down on a family who want to force their child to not be transgender.
It seems Abbott is against parental rights.
The way it’s reported.
It’s child abuse and insanity. These are the same people that “insist” we protect the environment at all cost, ironic.

Noone can trust youtube. Dangers: Folks will let their grandkids watch an old video or cartoon and youtube will interrupt with perverse ads.

First of all, it’s called “gender affirming” care and it means allowing the use of drugs, surgery, or counseling to assist in affirming the gender dysphoria of children believing themselves to be the opposite gender to which they were born and have the genitalia to prove it. It is unclear if Abbott’s directive applies to investigation of parents seeking medical intervention to affirm that (for example) their child born as a girl is NOT a boy or vice versa.

I agree. This kid is sixteen now, and being an extreme tomboy myself when I was a little girl and even into my teen years, I always thought, “It’d be so much easier to be a boy.” Granted, I never thought of myself as one, because I knew it was asinine, but if I were a young girl now, I’d be pressured into transgenderism. I know it.
By 14, when I had my first serious boyfriend, I got over it. The same probably would have held true for this kid.
There are women on YouTube who have de-transitioned and their voices will remain forever deep.
These are young women who took testosterone while “transitioning” to male.
