Washington CNN — President Joe Biden on Tuesday will announce new steps his administration is taking to address rising gasoline prices across the country, including emergency measures to expand biofuel sales...
[Snip]
The President is slated to announce that the Environmental Protection Agency will issue an emergency waiver permitting year-round sales of E15 gasoline, which contains a 15% ethanol blend, on a trip to Menlo, Iowa, where he’ll visit POET Bioprocessing, a biofuels plant that specializes in the creation of bioethanol.

The sale of E15 gasoline is usually prohibited from June to mid-September because of air quality concerns. Under former President Donald Trump, the EPA issued an order allowing permanent year-round sales of the biofuel blend in 2019, but the order was overturned last year by the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit.
Biden’s announcement, a senior administration official said, “is distinct from” his predecessor’s efforts to expand ethanol sales in that it’s “based on the current circumstance, which is a fuel supply emergency.”

Lesko Brandon is threading the needle between short-term pollution concerns and long term damage to the vehicles using 15% ethanol. Interesting times.
Corn is for cows, not cars.
Corn ethanol requires almost as much hydrocarbon energy for tillage, fertilizer, cultivation, pesticides, harvest, transportation, fermenting, distillation, and transportation as it contains when it arrives at the refinery for blending.

Bing!
It’s just like saying let’s all drive electric cars. Electricity is magic and appears out of thin air!
Biofuel isn’t going to be cheaper to produce this year. Just the opposite.
So this PROVES the climate change BS isn’t actually a pressing issue, because we would NEVER put ourselves and the future fate of our ENTIRE PLANET in danger simply to save some money, right?!?
Unless the 15% ethanol can shorten the life span of ICE vehicles.
Well It's too late to plant more grain for the 2022 season in much of North America. It's not like oil and gas where it's possible to drill wells any time of year, except for Alaska. You have to plant corn so that it is ready to harvest before winter or other weather could destroy the crops. And due to supply chain malfunctions, lots of inputs for agriculture are not available. Even if a farmer could still plant more grain, actually getting the seed, tractor spare parts especially tires, fuel, etc. is problematic.
There could be lots more grass fed beef on the market this year.
Yummy! Grass fed milk is yummy too.
Don't worry. BILL GATES' fake meat and chemical veggies will save the day. /s
So he is making edicts in the zero-sum game he is enforcing. Turn on oil exploration.
my truck does not run on corn
News release: 8.5% inflation since last March.
Corn-free fuel is best! Very pleased since making the change three years ago.
Ethanol produces the same amount of CO2 as gas, why not let the oil industry just pump oil?
To ensure to tear up all gasoline engines that use it.
This will cause food prices to rise even further
WARNING: No car sold in the US, other than Flex-Fuel vehicles, has been aproved to run on gasoline with 15% ethanol. YOU CAN DAMAGE YOUR ENGINE AND VOID YOUR WARRANTY!
I guess the "Global warming" boogie man has been shoved down the stack.
Now "Gas Prices" is our greatest concern!!
Funny how their policies always have the opposite effects of what they intended.
