Biden to announce authorization of E15 gasoline in an effort to increase US fuel supply, reduce gas prices

President Biden on Tuesday is set to announce that the Environmental Protection Agency will allow E15 gasoline—gasoline that uses a 15% ethanol blend—to be sold in the United States this summer in an effort to expand Americans’ access to affordable fuel supply amid the surge in gas prices across the nation.

The EPA is set to issue a national, emergency waiver. Without the action, the White House said E15 cannot be used in most of the country from June 1 to September 15. The EPA is expected to take final action to issue the emergency waiver closer to June 1.

Do the morons know ethanol comes from corn, a food crop, when food is in short supply?

E15 voids the warranty on small engines.

Biden and the Deep State want to take a wrecking ball to everything. Let’s go Brandon! Let’s destroy engines! And burn food at the onset of a global famine!

Exhausting food supplies isn’t a bug, it’s a feature.

Another public policy disaster with a sinister intent: get those pesky IC engines off the road.

Bad fuel mileage, engine damage, burning food to "alleviate" a government induced oil shortage..

What else would you expect from our bozo administration?

Shouldn’t farming resources be use for growing food?

Ethanol production is gov subsidized because it actually cost more. In the winter it destroys milage by a bigger percentage than the percentage of ethanol added.

Bottom line it costs the consumer more to use. It just is not displayed on the price per gallon at the pump.

So Biden is going to make sure I don’t have a car to ride in the process. Great work Brandon. Everyday he “fixes” something, it gets worse for America.

Nothing says stupid like using a food source to replace fossil fuels which we have plenty of.

This has nothing to do with preferring ethanol over oil as an ingredient in our motor fuels. This measure is being taken to avoid the costly and highly disruptive process that refineries must undertake to transition from “winter” to “summer” fuel blends. If you go back over the last 20+ years, you’ll see that there was almost always a steep hike in fuel prices right around early May as this transition took place. This is what they’re trying to prevent with this executive order.

Larger engines, not a big issue(but still an issue), small engines, big issue! Your lawnmower or dirt bike will be begging for mercy.

Seems a perfectly predictable Democrat idea in the face of a looming food shortage.

Makes me want to go buy 200lbs of beans and rice.

"This will destroy and or severely damage engines...This stinks!"

Yeah, and I was think'n it just might drive up the cost of food as well.. Don't they use corn to make the alcohol.?? That's food for cattle..

If a farmer can get twice as much for his harvest at the distillery that's probably the way he's going to go...

And let's us not forget about the great fertilizer shortage.!

Everything O'Biden does is designed to weaken our nation.. :(

Good morning devane617. I hope you are well. Here in Oklahoma we are blessed with the availability of pure, 100 % real non-blended gasoline. Yes, it costs about 10% more, but gas mileage with it offsets that corn gas price. It always struggle to find pure gasoline when I travel to other states. Most states don’t have that option.

Please allow me a bit of market survey. Is pure gasoline available in your area? If it were at 10% higher price, but you got 12% higher gas mileage, would you be willing to pay for it? The mileage and reduced date to the engine are bonuses.

Great Idea. With a global food crisis looming we should incentivise burning more food. These people are geniuses.
