During an interview set to air on Sunday’s broadcast of CBS’s “60 Minutes,” President Joe Biden was asked by network correspondent Scott Pelley about the possibility of Russian President Vladimir Putin using chemical or nuclear weapons as his nation’s military struggles to hold on to territory gained in its Ukraine ground invasion.
“Don’t, don’t, don’t,” Biden said. “You will change the face of war unlike anything since World War II.”

As I recall Obama said the same thing ...
‘a line in the sand’
Why would he think ‘changing the face of war’ would matter to Putin, who wouldn’t survive the war, anyway? Putin doesn’t care anymore about the welfare of his countrymen than Biden does.
All this crap because these people couldn’t accept that Trump beat them at their own silly game.
He needs to explain whether his bumbling in Eastern Europe has placed us at risk of a full nuclear exchange with Russia and, if it hasn’t, what assurance he can give us that it hasn’t.
Hmm. You essentially brought in this war by stating that a minor incursion would be no big deal. What if they just use a couple very small battlefield nukes. Would that warrant a “consequential” response. Complete embargo= are you willing to perform that act of war if only a couple little nukes are used? I’m sure that the Europeans, as they freeze in the dark, would back you to the hilt. This is what weakness and putting the dent Ed and stupid in office gets us.
Brandon/Soros want a nuclear reset so badly they can taste it.
The difference between Obama’s line in the sand and Biden’s consequences is this.
They crossed Obama’s line and nothing happened.
They ignored Joe’s “consequences” statement prior to the Ukraine invasion. But Joe led unwillingly by Boris Johnson and the US congress was forced to step up to ever more severe sanctions and to sending a couple of billion dollars of arms a month to Ukraine.
Slow walking Moscow Joe has only send a third of the $40 billion Congress appropriated. But that is and will continue to be “consequential”.
The pentagon knows they can’t “Not Respond” to a nuclear or chemical attack by Russia. To not respond sends a horrible messsage to all rogue states. So they will.
Russia will see the US directly attack for the first time in this war. It will be a limited response to Russia’s use of weapons, probably the sinking of the remaining Black Sea fleet and the destruction of one or two Russian military bases.
It won’t be the US fully engaging in war unless Russia fails to get the message. But I really think Russia understand this. And Putin wouldn’t survive the internal political crisis that would cause. Putin’s having trouble even now.
I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time! Thanks big guy, you’re a comedic genius!
Don’t worry, Biden will put Russia on Double Secret Probation, just like in Animal House https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3LzJzQ3wj4
False flag incoming? No better way to be able to declare a national emergency and mandate mail in voting.
“Russia will see the US directly attack for the first time in this war.”
A LUDICROUS FANTASY.
There is nothing, absent a direct and substantial attack on a NATO member, that would cause the US to directly engage Russian forces.
MAD is still in effect. Anyone who thinks otherwise is not thinking.
If the bioweapons Covid wasn’t consequenti al why would our enemies fear a reaction to another kind of WMD?
I disagree. Putin said even before the limited military operation that Russia could not defeat NATO. Because of that they would be forced to use nuclear weapons. They drew a red line for NATO not to cross. We decided that he was playing chicken and put a few billion lives on the table as a dare.
“You will change the face of war unlike anything since World War II.”
It’s already been changed. But yeah, nuclear, biological or chemical weapons would bring NATO and others directly into it.
Mike Adams’ recent interview with Gonzalo Lira provides an interesting contrast to that provided by western media.
The Biden Administration should re-implement the Trump Administration policies on energy because of the unforeseen events. Stubbornness from pride will bring the Democrats another political defeat. [Yeah! ;) ]
Yes. Decisions about the most difficult defense situations are not made by non-defense civilians in an executive administration. They’re made by generals and defense related academics. A president will simply sign off on needed measures.
But if he should the US will respond.
The Pentagon under Trump wasn't afraid to attack Russian troups. Well technically Russian contractors.
