Secession movements gain traction in US amid deepening political rifts: 'A long-standing problem'

Grassroots movements of Americans seeking a political divorce from their fellow citizens have recently gained traction amid deepening cultural rifts, according to multiple figures involved with secessionist organizations who spoke to Fox News Digital.

Such movements have emerged in every region of the U.S. and vary in their goals. Some aim for entire states to leave the union to form a new country, while others endeavor more simply that rural red counties secede from the domination of blue urban centers to form new states. All agree that the disagreements with their political opponents have grown intractable.

"We're at a point, I think, where America is not necessarily in the balance, but the institution known as the United States is in the balance," Daniel Miller, president of the Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM), told Fox News Digital.

Miller's organization endeavors to see Texas leave the union and revert to the sovereign republic it was from 1836, when it broke from Mexico, until it was annexed by the U.S. in 1845.

IF Texas does secede-—I predict at least 26 or more other states joining them.

Works for me.

Well, nobody is going to be allowed to secede without a fight, and if we are going to have to fight either way, why not fight to take the whole enchilada?

Some aim for entire states to leave the union to form a new country, while others endeavor more simply that rural red counties secede from the domination of blue urban centers to form new states.

The author leaves out the third scenario and the only scenario that has any chance to succeed.

Breaking away from state A and merging with state B. For example numerous Oregon counties breaking away and merging with Idaho.

Can anyone imagine Abbott and DeSantis joining together in a red state secessionist movement to Make Part Of America Great Again?

I can’t either.

Can you talk about secession or de-annexation, which I think in Texas' case would be more appropriate, without being labeled or charged with seditious conspiracy?

If Texas did seccede the very large woke army force at Ft Hood (Sam Brinton?) will quickly deply to capture Austin and Dallas Ft Worth etc.

Could secession happen?

I have to refresh memory about states leaving the union at the time of the Civil War. But if I recall correctly, South Carolina was the first to secede, and then other states joined in.

If one state were to secede, would others join; would the floodgates open up?

History tells us that President Lincoln used military force to keep states in the union. Would military force be used today, if states wanted to secede? I wonder about that aspect of things.

335 million hugely diverse people cannot be peacefully governed as one nation.

Job One...

How do we divide the former “United” states without violence and without economic destruction?

Yeah, somehow enchilada seems to be the the right description for what's going to left of the "good old USA".

Good Lord, if the Red states leave, where will DC get the cash for the fat pensions they deserve??

The war to keep the slaves will be righteous.

Military force to include ‘foreign volunteers’ (Lincoln made extensive use of that one also), UN Volunteer foreign militaries units (Bengla Desh, Pakistan, China, Cuba we pay as well as the ‘new’ National Volunteers recruited from Black Thugs Matter, Antifa and street gangs from BLUE City, you know the Baltimore Blues, the Chicago Black Panthers. Also lots of drone and air strikes., and DHS ‘National Police Corps’

A map of the 2016 presidential election results by county

This is the 2016 presidential result.

If the country does split you have blue areas surrounded by red areas.

You'd still have to deal with liberalism within the Red states.

I’ve tried to stay positive here in New York, but if the sh** is going down in the USA, blue states will become unlivable. Please keep the door open for me, Texas, until I get there.

I'm not so sure. Whom would they send against us?

Maybe in times past there would have been a fight like CW1, but nowadays we have all the rural people, hunters, veterans, small town types, across the entire country. We have most of the States. Not only that, we have nearly all the Sheriffs in all the red counties everywhere, even in the Blue States. Most are trained, capable of being led, and all armed to the teeth.

And the Democrats have . . .?

Biden already threatened us with nukes so maybe that's the plan - kill us all with nukes, which I'm sure the Democrats would love to do.

But if it comes down to a protracted ground campaign out in the boondocks?

I don't see it. I think they have no chance against us.

What's more I think they know it.

I want nothing to do with anyone who votes for a democrat. They simply want that democrat to then use government to hurt me.

Wont happen unless complete failure of monetary system. Too many dependent upon social security, and that includes many in the conservative block. A military coup the more likely scenario if things were to get really bad.
