Demesha Coleman, 35, was charged Thursday with two counts of murder, one count of assault and three counts of armed criminal action after shooting and killing Darius Jackson, 19, and Joseph Farrar, 49.

Police found Farrar next to a gas pump with a gunshot to the torso and Jackson was on the ground next to the car, also shot in the torso.

A third man sustained a gunshot to the head during the shootout, but survived, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. It remains unclear which of the three men, if any, may have stolen the vehicle.

The St Louis police will do nothing to stop car theft. It’s understandable that people have to be their own law enforcement. Not guilty.

Misleading headline. They were car thieves not carjackers.

That said, I vote not guilty, since the St Louis DA would have let them loose..

We’re short on details, but this story fits in with the old adage: When the police aren’t around, more crimes become capital crimes.

People take things into their own hands and stuff like this happens.

Don’t think it works that way.

If she had shot them during the carjacking, she might have been OK (although St. Louis prosecutor has a penchant for prosecuting victims of criminal action). She could claim she was afraid for her life.

But ‘tracking them down’ and finding her stolen car at a gas station and then shooting the men inside is likely to get her in trouble pretty much anywhere.

Would have to see the video

Coleman was captured on surveillance footage walking up to a Hyundai Tucson in the gas station parking lot, a detective wrote. She was with a man police have not publicly identified, but officers said they were both carrying guns.

She’s seen opening the front passenger door of the Tucson with her gun raised while the man opens the driver’s side door with his gun raised, police wrote. Coleman opened fire, and a shootout followed.

OP article says she has no criminal record. Tries to get her car back, has gun, car thief has gun, both aiming at each other and she was faster with the trigger.

I suppose the cops/courts consider her a vigilante for tracking down here stolen car on her own and bringing a gun.

You're right. Fine the woman $50 for the cost of the police having to clean up the garbage.

I was going to say something like that.

The reason vigilante justice is the only true justice (other is pseudo justice) is because the legal system is so skewed in favor of the guilty criminals. Victims and the future victims are helpless as the guilty are set free. Jurors are not allowed to hear taped confessions or oral statements if any technicality (not just Mirandizing flaws) can be found. And past exact duplicate crimes cannot be mentioned in court. Or sealed juvenile records.

And so on. WE know things the jurors were not allowed to learn. Thus, people lose all respect for the system of pseudo justice.

The unfair thing is the outraged victim or loved one of a victim has to engage in the purity of vigilantism and suffer the legal punishments later.

Well, gee. It sure would be too bad if there’s a deadlocked jury.

An infinite string of them. What would a DA do.

Does she have a GoFundMe? Just axin’.

Not with me. I hate thieves. The more of them winding up dead on the street, the better. I don't care if they stole a loaf of bread or a car. I don't care if someone's family is starving. There are services out the yin-yang for that. Don't steal.

Hell, I watched a video on YouTube from a guy named Mark Rober. He made the glitter-bomb and skunk spray packages to get back at porch pirates. His most recent video shows thieves breaking into cars in broad daylight, some of the victims are in traffic in their cars and having stuff stolen right out of their vehicles. One of the thieves who took a package off the street (he leaves some out to see if people steal them or call the intended recipient) had a kid who called the glitter bomb a scam. And started cussing out the "scammer" even though his mom was a thief and he knew it was stolen. He was white trailer park trash. The video showed him and his abode.

Excellent tagline, actually one of the best I've ever seen. It did take me a minute though.

Congratulations and Merry Christmas to you.

I am glad to see people taking matters into their own hands. The cops sure aren’t doing much.

Kill ‘em all I say. Let God sort them out.
