Public Health Emergency Declaration on Abortion Not Off the Table for Biden Administration
Breitbart ^ | 02-06-2023 | HANNAH BLEAU

A public health emergency declaration on abortion is not completely off the table for the Biden administration in the wake of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, sending the restrictions on abortion, or lack thereof, back to the states.

This push to declare a public health emergency is not necessarily new, as dozens of House Democrats urged President Joe Biden to do so last summer. In a letter to Biden and Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra, the lawmakers called the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision both “radical and dangerous,” contending it “precipitated a full-scale reproductive health crisis across our nation.”

Since when does a “public health emergency declaration” circumvent the Constitution?

Since when does a “public health emergency declaration” circumvent the Constitution?

Since we don't do anything about it.

There are so many things being done now by all three branches of government that your statement applies to.

A "public health emergency” that so many kids are being conceived and born. A direct threat to the health of our planet! We cannot have that. Executive Order. Abortions for those women who want to save our planet, now!

God, hold off your avenging hand until we have a chance to repent.

RE: You have no idea how much I despise these people.

Agree.

The “health” of the pre-born babies is in mortal danger from Dems in power.
There is no “emergency” for a woman to get an abortion.*

*The surgical ending of an ectopic event in the woman is not an “abortion” even to pro-life people. The situation could never result in a live birth. Used as a political strategy by the Left for sympathy.

Incest accounts for 0.5% and rape accounts for 1.5% of women’s reasons stated for an abortion but the Left inflates them to tens of millions who must be needing them. BS.

And the lefturds are still running around screaming about SCOTUS updending a woman’s “right” to an abortion.
THEY DID NO SUCH THING.

They did, rightly, recognize that this issue (like so many, many others) rests with the STATES. And, that is where these a$$clowns should be pushing their tripe.

We have allowed the Feds to chip away at States’ Rights for far too long. And, it’s well past time for that pendulum to swing back this way...

Not killing babies is a health crisis? Abortion is a health crisis for the babies it kills.

More babies (many/most Of Color) are killed EVERY YEAR (73 MILLION per the uber-liberal WHO: https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/abortion) than Hitler/Stalin/Pol Pot/Mao COMBINED.

Wasn't making the Covid vax mandatory labeled a public health emergency? Didn't China use that to force a limit on children and mandatory abortions?

“I cannot think to lay my finger upon just where in the Constitution he has the power to do this.”

No president using the Constitution ever had the ability to rule on abortion because it is an elective procedure and doesn’t fall under the first amendment as a governed freedom. The Supreme Court ruling in the Roe was misguided in its application but was the only connection to the federal government they could create.

And now that Roe has been taken off the table, it is going to be difficult to reapply it by declaring an emergency based upon state rulings that the Constitution and the courts have now been determined mute on. If the GOP holds its ground, it will take a Constitutional amendment that will never make it through congress.

And even if it does, it is a health issue that is covered in state law and is not an insurrection. But if the GOP folds like they have been known to do, they will allow (ignore) the obvious violation of law and a new back door will be opened.

RE: Constitutional “right” for getting an abortion.....

Local news woman said “the Roe decision was overruled by the Supreme Court and women lost their Constitutional right to abortion.”

She had heard that lie so many times that she obviously believed it.

Show us the line in the Constitution, “reporterette.” (Nod to Rush Limbaugh for that term.)

CoVid gave the dictators a taste of what sorts of things can be done under a declared “emergency”. Now we have an abortion emergency and multiple calls for a climate emergency in order to enact measures that would otherwise be impermissible. Look for an economic emergency and an energy emergency next.

Next (R) president can simply declare a public health emergency and ban all abortions.

How many women have died in “back alley” abortions since Roe was overturned? We need to ask this question publicly to emphasis how much progressives lie and show there is no healthcare emergency regarding abortions.
