Late last month, Joe Biden was mocked for posting a photo of himself in an electric vehicle (a GMC Hummer) that costs $110,000 and up. And for touting a $7,500 federal tax credit that doesn’t apply to vehicles that cost over $80,000. In other words, the 46th president was ripped for confirming the stereotype that electric cars are a vanity passion for rich green liberals.
But what was less noticed, at least by the right, was that left-wing greens didn’t like Biden’s photo-op, either. You see, Middle Class Joe insists that he wants to replace internal-combustion vehicles with electric vehicles (EV), but the hardcore greens–including those within his own administration–want to get rid of cars, period. At certain times, as when he is trying to appeal to the far left during his campaign for the 2020 Democratic nomination, Biden has said that he wants to get “millions of vehicles off the road.” But that was then: Now Biden, eyeing his re-election campaign, wants to play the champion of Main Street, where they have cars, not the New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

After they take all the cars and folks return to the horse and buggy era, they will go after the animals that poop on the street./s
Sounds like a “government” that wants the population to remain in their caves and never come out. Friggin’ POLITICIANS.
No leftist extremist politicians want the population dead
A woke - ultra liberal town in my county replaced all of their Police Cars [Ford Explorers] with electric cars.
Big problem - the Town’s maintenance crew does not know how to repair electric cars - so the woke now are facing outside maintenance costs not in the budget!
The “Greenie Liberals” who are millionaires will be the only ones with transportation. Look at the Greenies who flew to Switzerland for the conference in their private jets, ate flown in lobster and flew in their chefs and their high priced hookers. They could care less about the main street American, or even European.
Pretty much.
They are doing the Devil’s work and will get the Devil’s pay.
Careful! That is a protected class. Look at San Francisco.
Greens–including those within his own administration–want to get rid of cars, period.
There you have it proof they are year one thinkers they will go after fire next.
Meh. so far I have not seen the slightest Republican opposition to this. It isn’t just leftist politicians. Texas is a good example. The Republican leaders were bought off by the renewable industry and filled the land with windmills and solar farms. They closed every coal plant they could find.
And Texans froze in the dark.
Republicans are just as bribable as leftist extremists. The Chinese money disease gets them just the same.
Sadly too many sheeple have purchased the plan as well. As previous, maybe 10-15% give a crap.
Get rid of all cars? Fine, then we can go drone.
There is no difference between the two parties, outside of the public rhetoric. Behind closed doors, they are all on the same team.
Two of my three children who are now grown successful adults made job, housing, and transportation decisions based on abandoning the need to own an automobile. Good mass transit, light rail, busses, and well planned city transportation infrastructures make that possible. They prefer it. You must live inner city.
I could be wrong but it appears that the “yoops” are more readily compliant than Americans. But ~85% of Americans will baaaa baaaa baaaa right along. Sad days. 😵💫🐂💩
More likely riding busses, bicycles, and trains, just like Europe. All your transportation needs will be met by systems crested by people smarter and who care more about mother erf than you, like mayor Pete.
Money talks, citizens walk.
It pushed all our shopping to the web. And although I like my groceries delivered...I have to get out of the house so I don't go nuts.
Don't lock me in again....ever...
Any mechanic worth a damn can figure out how to fix an electric car. It’s not like hybrid gas-electric vehicles haven’t been around for what, 20 years now? What’s the difference between an electric vehicle and a hybrid other than the lack of a gas engine?
Sounds like they’ve got a bunch of oil change monkeys on the payroll and they’re probably paying them like they’re master level mechanics.
