He has no idea of the fighting between tribes and the brutality. He also doesn’t seem to understand that many tribes were nomadic, taking from the land and resources and then moving on to another pasture then coming back later to reap again from the environment that tried to recover.
And the OLD ones who couldn’t contribute nor fend for themselves? Sent out to wander and die.

I always find it funny how some people seem to think that if white people didn’t come here, all of North and South America would be filled with people happily foraging for their food, having dogs drag their travoys, and living in huts, teepees, wigwams, etc. They never stop to consider that North and South America would have eventually been found by someone else, quite possibly the Chinese. I wonder how the Indians would have faired under 500 years of Chinese rule.

Yep. I once read an article about a French fur trapper who worked the Great Lakes around the time of the American Revolution. I can’t remember the names of the Indian tribes in the article, so I’ll just use A and B.
Well, one day the trapper went to visit his friends at Tribe A and couldn’t find them anywhere. So he canoed down to his friends at Tribe B.
“Where is Tribe A?” he asked the chief of Tribe B. “We killed them all,” the chief replied.
