Just 34% of Americans see the country's energy situation as "very serious," according to a new Gallup tracker poll released Monday.
That figure is down 10% from last year, when motorists were paying historically high gas prices.
Voter sentiment has since changed, the poll appears to show.
While 44% of respondents indicated they’re quite concerned about the domestic situation, 51% said it was just "fairly serious," while 14% felt it is "not at all serious."
As of March, Gallup also found that the majority of Americans – 53% – believe the country should "prioritize environmental protection" over developing our own energy supply and being energy independent.
While gas prices are lower than last year's, they are re-approaching $5 a gallon at the pump, with U.S. companies saying such rises are largely the results of changes in the global market.
34%= most? Must be new math. That used to be “Only about a third....”

The take home, if this poll is to be believed, is that 86% of Americans see our energy situation as some form of “serious.”
Dumb poll. Should have just had Serious/Not Serious as a problem.

This is not surprising, even though it’s more expensive than when Trump was POTUS, you can still buy gasoline anywhere at anytime, same for diesel, you can still expect to have electric power 99.9999% of the time with minimal interuption.
Why would you think anything other than we have energy no reason to worry, except if you pay attention to the plans to force Americans to buy EVs and what happens when the power grid can’t hold up, something that doesn’t concern most Americans who only think of the next couple of hours instead what happens next year or 5 years from now.
Not only that, but the implication is that things are “very” serious and stupid the Americans just don’t “get it”.
I’d probably answer “fairly serious” based on my personal experience in the last year moving to a heavy GOP city in a GOP/Trump state after leaving the sh*thole known as Portland. Energy cost are reasonable here and oil and gas are King.
There’s a reason somebody coined the term “low-hanging fruit”.
Those of us who have real educations (e.g., STEM) have known this for a long time. But then, who are we when compared to such mental giants as journalism and studies majors?
Don’t worry. They will take it seriously when they can’t power their homes and cars and electric semis are stalled out on the highways waiting for the 8 hour charging van to show up.
Most people don’t remember gas shortages.
A good percent don’t drive.
A large percent live with their parents…so they don’t know what stuff costs.
The remainder are concerned.
Since when is fairly serious considered to be a positive in a poll?

Then it’s obvious that the majority are blind.
But how do they breathe (with their heads up their butts)?
That’s moronic. The two are not mutually exclusive.
The uninterested are the hipsters and Demo base (i.e., IQ < 85) who live in blue cities and hold anyone outside it in total contempt. So, if YOU are having trouble, your problem.
Most people seem to think things happen by magic.
