Walmart’s website opens with photos of mothers and children shopping, weekly specials on daily necessities, and — for those who click on the “Our Company” link and dig a little deeper — an unabashed admission Walmart has been videoing every gun sale in its stores.
The “Our Company” tab shifts the website to Walmart’s corporate page, from whence one can peruse various pages, one of which sets forth Walmart’s policy for “Responsible Firearm Sales.”
On the “Responsible Firearm Sales” page, Walmart says, in part:
In 2018, we made the decision to raise the minimum age to purchase firearms and ammunition in our stores to 21 years of age. In years prior, we ended sales of modern sporting rifles, including the AR-15. Most recently, in September 2019, we decided to no longer sell the ammunition that can be used in large capacity magazines on military-style weapons, which we do not sell. We also made a complete exit from handgun sales. We will focus our assortment of ammunition on the firearms we do carry.

If I owned a business, gun related or otherwise, I would protect that business with, among other things, cameras. What right of privacy that is beyond all the other commonly accepted surveillance when in public is being infringed here? They should have cameras throughout the store, including the gun counter. Why not?
Sam was a solid conservative but as almost always happens when the kids take over the company is ruined.
In 1997 I was working for the American division of an Israeli company. They had a company Lowe’s card. Although the balance was regularly very high by ordinary standards, the VP of finance went over every line item. One of them was a large zero turn commercial mower and some smaller, but still industrial sized tools, like chainsaws. In that month the bill was about average, but we had a lawn service and zero need for the other tools. So, the company went to Lowes and asked who had charged this. Lowes looked at the receipts and pulled up the video and some low-level employee had stolen the card and then put it back. Had it not been for a very anal VP he’d have gotten away with it. The video from the purchase was perfect for identifying the employee who had decided to branch into a lawn care business on the side. Taking pictures of every purchase has been a widely accepted practice at a large number of suppliers for a very long time. Guns should be an exception to this?
In CA all you can get from Walmart is BBs and Pellets, IF you are over 18.

I’m with you, their store, their rules. What shocks me, actually, is that they’re still even selling guns.
Anybody know where I can get me a hunting license?
And what’s the bag limit on Democrats?
...oh, they’re considered vermin, no limit? Bring back their ears for a bounty? Cool!!!

They still sell ‘em in my neck of the woods. Except no handguns or black rifles, I think. I have bought guns at Wally World, but not for a while (and probably never again).
IF the cameras are IN EVERY AISLE——OK—That is security against shoplifters, etc.
IF ONLY in the SPORTS DEPARTMENT——DISCRIMINATION against 2A
Lol. They have cameras at the cookie aisle as well. Creepers.
How many Dateline’s have we seen with video of the perps buying their murder kit supplies at the front registers at 3AM?
They video ALL their transactions. Sheesh, people - if you’re that hung up on it, go buy your iron from gangbangers.
Did you know that Walmart has VERY little employee theft? Is it because they hire honest people? Nope, it’s because they have one of the most sophisticated camera systems available in their stores and the employees know they are being watched every second as are the customers.
I used to own guns,,,but sold them all and bot a case of bear spray.
Well in fact they do have some but they parade the offender through the entire store, cuffed with Police leading them like a dog..They will and do prosecute them to the fullest extent, ban them from Wal Marts and make it difficult to remove from the offender’s record.
Walmart videos everything it sells
It’s called security surveillance
Been around a long time
Simmer down
I used to shop at his store on the west side of the Bentonville square. I remember him well.
Go to a gun store if you want
They video tape everything too
***to raise the minimum age to purchase firearms and ammunition in our stores to 21 years of age.****
What a change from the days when Liberty ruled the land! I got my first in 1961 at the age of 14 but bought my own ammo. Bought my first at the age of 18.
The last place on earth I would buy a gun. 😣
