The 13-year-old boy shot in a possible targeted attack at a Staten Island playground has died of his injuries, police said Tuesday — as law enforcement sources revealed that an older teen shooter was nabbed in connection to the deadly violence.
The younger teen, identified by the NYPD as Jamoure Harrell, was shot in the head by two masked gunmen just before 4 p.m. Friday inside Reverend Doctor Maggie Howard Playground, near NYCHA’s Stapleton Houses, according to cops.
Jamoure was rushed to Richmond University Medical Center, where he was initially listed in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries Monday, authorities said

The younger kids get prosecuted even less than older kids and adults when it comes to selling drugs - probably a lot of them killed in Chicago, but of course the media blacks it out. In this case, perhaps the kid intruded on territory where he shouldn’t have been.
Gangs often use young kids as drug runners because they are rarely prosecuted if caught by the police. I wonder if this kid was operating outside his home turf, and got targeted because of it.
Urban America is unlivable. Once a boy reaches puberty in these minority areas, their lives are usually put on a decadent arc that does not end well. The middle schools and high schools are dysfunctional frauds. The only real hope these kids have is to get out of that environment by age 10 the latest. Pumping money into these areas does not help.

Hate to say it but the pre-teen was probably also involved in nefarious activity. Hence the target.
Yes, ridiculous that playgrounds are being “named” now. The most you could expect was a connection to the park it is in, etc.
I'm surprised that a guy from CHICAGO finds this surprising.
Al is too busy screaming about “White Supremacism” at the funeral for the violent “Michael Jackson” subway impersonator with a lengthy criminal record who was righteously taken down by a former marine.
Of course race baiters Sharpton and Crump will keep theri traps shut on this because its black on black. Yet, as last week proves, they’ll do all they can to railroad a white Marine, who interceded on a subway to stop a threatening situation, defending black and white folks. Why don’t respectable politicians call out these race baiters, because there are none.
