The Republican-led Texas House on Saturday impeached highly popular Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Ken Paxton was impeached by the Republican-led House (85 Rs to 64 Ds) and will be suspended effective immediately.

The vote tally: 121 ayes – 23 nays – 2 ‘present not voting’

For final removal, it would require a 2/3 vote in the senate.

A Texas House Committee full of RINOs on Thursday voted to recommend impeaching Ken Paxton after an investigation into his ‘corruption.’

The 20 articles include “bribery, unfitness for office and abuse of public trust” – according to the Associated Press.

Voting with the rats tells you everything you need to know about a majority of the R’s. Every one of those dirt bags should be out in his ass.

Find a Biden voter, provide them facts about what a disaster he is and point out that they’re the ones that helped put him in office…..yes, some actual humans voted for him. Not 81,000,000 but some.

Their reflexive response will say their vote doesn’t matter, it’s all Trump’s fault.

Right now Republican voters in Texas are the only ones to blame for what happened to Paxton. No one else.

They’re the ones that put these RINOs in office. They’re the ones that shrug it all off as long as they can continue and afford to live their lives the way they want to. As long as they can take their kids to their weekend soccer/softball/baseball tournaments, pay their taxes, buy a new Super Duty every 3 or 4 years, and they can smoke some ribs, all is well.

They don’t pay attention to any of the bullsh*t these people are getting away with. And when confronted with it, it’s a shoulder shrug and back to the smoker

Where, exactly, is the “vote sheet”?
That sounds like a list of who voted how - but no such list is in the article.

I am stunned by the lopsided vote. My confidence that the Senate will acquit is now seriously dashed. People in TX are dying to put Democrats in power, but why?

Thank you.
My guy (Pete Sessions) was either Present Not Voting (they can DO that?) or he was absent.
I sent him an email earlier asking how he voted. If I get a reply at all it’ll be around Christmas...

Supposedly he had a mistress. I always marvel at how a guy on the right gets thrown out and impeached over things like this, but leftists like that Swallowell can bang a Fang Fang Chinese spy and nobody can touch him.

How about Paxton himself?

Yeah and any time you bring up something that you assume would be on interest to any thinking adult who doesn’t live in a cave they act like there’s something wrong with you for bringing up stuff that’s not mundane or affects them personally.

They hate Paxton because he brings lawsuits against their butt buddy, FJB, every day and wins a lot of them.

Yes. The Texas House is full of RINO politicians for starters. Think Crensaw x 130.

The problem here is that Paxton is one of the few truly MAGA Republicans not beholden to the Deep State left in Texas, and he was on the short list to run for Governor in 2026, who would have wielded a Kari Lake-level of whoopass on Texas RINOs. Most notably, he is the main reason the state is relatively safe from election fraud, and for 2024 they need to loosen it up to get Texas blue.

Now, for the Senate trial, he will have a lot more leeway to present his case so he has ***a chance*** that he can prevent being outed there. The House impeachment was like a Bragg indictment: No need to present anything but innuendo, though the House should have seen through it. But we don’t live in America anymore.

Finally: Watch what happens while Paxton is out of play because of the unconstitutional law that keeps him from office after the impeachment. Think of it in the save vein as if Trump were not allowed to be president between impeachment and Senate trial; you get my drift. This means that if the Dems ever get full control of the House, they can impeach EVERY republican, from governor down to dogcatcher, just to keep them from doing their job. The Senate trial will likely take its time to start, and they need to get a lot of stuff in play to mangle the 2024 elections; they have the time to do it now without oversight.

That newly elected Orr from Hill county voted Yes. She may not get re-elected.
She’s just legacy. Was in the tax office. Name recognition due to her name on who to pay your taxes to. Not worth the spit in a spittoon.

Does getting the fewest votes of any statewide Republican in Texas last year count as highly popular?

Let me say this….

If what Paxton has done was so bad, I’m thinking he would have been charged. There would be nothing preventing a county DA not the Rangers from investigating him.

So, one can do all these illegal things, not be charged criminally but get impeached for all the “illegal” things. I have a hard time with that. Maybe that’s just me.

But, REAL conservative politicians are very hard to find. If one is, they’re usually cast as an extremists or radical. Why? Because most of the other Republicans, are nothing more than a bunch of Frat-boy, country club RINOs that are thrust upon the voters by the GOP machine.

Question, if the party balance was switched, would Democrats help the Republicans in any way, shape or form?
