Why do Republicans always show up to a gunfight with knives? I hope Iā€™m wrong about this one.

I think that you are wrong about Pete Sessions- he is my Representative in the US House of Representatives, and the current vote under discussion is in the Texas State House, unless you are talking about some other vote (in the US House). I don’t know anything about him, he is only just recently my Rep due to a recent redistricting.

“Peter Anderson Sessions (born March 22, 1955) is an American politician from Texas who is the U.S. representative for Texas’s 17th congressional district. A member of the Republican Party ......”

The Republican-led Texas House on Saturday impeached highly popular Attorney General Ken Paxton.

"Highly popular" - just more typical nonsense / hyperbole from TGP. He is not "highly popular."

George P Bush ran against AG Ken Paxton last election. I can tell you I had election brochures every day for months with photos of Paxton in jail stripes behind bars, ugly, scary garbage junk over- running my garbage cans.

The same charges have been thrown against Paxton for some years. The voters of TX knew about all the Bush/leftist accusations and voted for him. Even my Democrat friends voted for him.

My Rep voted no and explained the process was hurried and did not present enough witnesses. Two days to have a trial is not enough.

They helped screw us over in 2020 and 22.

sooner our side realizes the mainstream republicans are not on our side, the sooner we may be able to fix this mess.

I keep reminding people here it’s easier to kick an incumbent Democrat out then an incumbent RINO.

Does getting the fewest votes of any statewide Republican in Texas last year count as highly popular?

It was popular enough, wasn't it?

I knew RINOs have long dominated the TX House, but not to this extent. I hope the more conservative Senate will not convict, but they may might and make Mrs. Paxton recuse herself. TX Republican primary voters never seem to get the legislative nominations right.

I think the Bushes and the Bush wing of the Dems including their buddies Karl Rove are behind this for a lot of reasons. One being immigrationwhich Paxton has helped curtail. Perfect timing, huh? Right as the border invasion increases after Totle 42 ended. No coincidence that a few weeks ago it was reported that Presidents Clinton. Obama and Bush have combined forces to bring illegal immigrants into the USA with private charted planes. They are obsessed with this issue, with destroying our country and Paxton is in the way.
