Disingenuous headline and article.
“... other upstart electric vehicle makers such as Rivian, which sells direct to customers online, could also benefit.”
If the article is accurate, this is a huge strike against DeSantis. I suppose someone somewhere could come up with a reason why this law is a good law.
No matter. This law restricts a consumer’s freedom to choose. And the key word there is “freedom”.
I don’t know that such a law would be upheld in court... what business is it of the state in ‘permitting’ any manufacturer from selling its wares?
DeSantis plan to clean up favoritism and corruption?
A squeaky clean guy with no baggage compared to Trump??
A new video
Only fools.....
The usual Trump-cult garbage. The whole country has a similar law to Florida’s.
How the hell is this legal in any way, shape, or form?????
DeSantis is becoming train wreck
This whole law is a mistake.
Not fair. If Tesla is allowed to “cut out the middleman,” then all car companies should be allowed to “cut out the middlemen.

Crony capitalism. Should fit right in with the DC crowd
What does DeSantis know about business? Let me look that up. Yep. Never had a job in the private sector. He knows NOTHING. He shouldn’t be picking winners and losers. He should be trying to get government out of the way of individuals and businesses. This kind of crap doesn’t win my vote.
There is no place in Florida that will do that. Even outposts like Lake City, Merritt Island, Pensacola (nice store) -- not happening.
Crony Capitalism with a Mouse, now with a Musk?
That’s the Florida Swamp way..
Beware Musk, keep your mouth shut... Mickey didn’t and it cost him..
Maybe he should sign blank checks to big pharma and lockdown the entire country as the leader of the free world.
Why is he so much in your head. If Trump is winning by 50 what do you care? You have a weird obsession with him.
The law is a stupid one anyway. But Musk should not be the only exception to it.
There’s a similar law in New Mexico, Tesla opened stores on Indian Reservations since they’re sovereign nations.
I disagree with DeSantis on this, but it’s not “corruption.” Tesla has a different business model and doesn’t use dealers.
If I were running a car company, I’d open my own dealerships.
