Stockton 7-11 clerks went too far in viciously beating brazen shoplifter | Opinion

Store clerks have legal options when someone shoplifts. Teaming up to brutally beat the thief isn’t one of them. No wonder two 7-11 clerks in Stockton who battered a would-be shoplifter with a wooden rod are being investigated by police, as reported on TV news. Although brazen stealing is frustrating, costly and dangerous to store employees, confronting it with violence that far exceeds self-defense is not the answer.

It is *EXACTLY* the answer.

People are sick of the law protecting criminals from the public, and now the public is starting to do something about it.

These “journalists” had better hope the local violent criminal element will spare them and their loved ones.

Famous producer and musician Al Kooper (Blood Sweat and Tears, played on Like A Rolling Stone and Electric Ladyland with Jimi Hendrix)
said he had always supported civil rights. One night he was surrounded by blacks in front and behind. He quickly gave his wallet, ring and watch.

They brutally beat him anyway. As he painfully slumped to the sidewalk as they kicked and stomped him he said he thought “Hey, guys, I was always on your side. I was always for you guys.”

If the law has abrogated their duty, then the law should FO and leave the citizens to fix the problem.

It’s what they want. They push Anarcho-tyranny so that vigilantes will rise up.
Then a Federal Police force will be the solution.
Order out of chaos…

Nothing a visit by those store clerks wouldn’t fix.

The system of pseudo-justice causes people to have to do the work themselves, at terrible risk to their rights.

Putting all the weights on the criminals’ side of the balance scale for justice means it is not justice.

In a better age, the cops would have joined in with their night sticks.

Completely and totally the answer.

There was some lowlife in the UK who would go into people's homes and scare them for fun and "clicks". When asked why he said that no one would stop him and so it was ok. If it was wrong they would beat him. By their not beating him it meant they were weak, he was strong and it was ok for the strong to abuse the weak.

Let the beatings begin.

They were literally whipping his butt. Not his head or his ribs or his belly. Pain, not permanent injury.

If they did anything about criminals they might get a boo-boo.

But law abiding people will not attack the police therefore it is perfectly safe to make their lives a living hell.

Sorry. Just as you said, if he says he’s got a gun that’s the point at which he’s paid for. It ought to be simple.
