Vivek Ramaswamy, the 37-year-old biotech entrepreneur, is hovering among the top contenders as a Republican presidential candidate while being open about his Hindu faith.
Vivek Ramaswamy is as comfortable talking about Bible stories as he is sharing the message of the Bhagavad Gita, one of the most sacred Hindu texts. The 37-year-old biotech entrepreneur turned Republican presidential candidate has been steadily garnering support in a party dominated by conservative Christians. In many polls, he's in third place behind former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, and he is one of six candidates who have qualified for the first GOP presidential debate on Aug. 23.
He is also only the nation's second Hindu presidential candidate. Tulsi Gabbard, the former Hawaii congresswoman, ran as a Democrat in 2020.
. . .
He has expressed support for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, whose populist policies have been divisive.

Modi has waged war on Christians.
Vivek claims to be a monotheistic Hindu. I'm curious which Hindu God he worships.
Fake news.
Nope, this is a Biblical Nation.
There is a monotheistic view in some of Hinduism - sort of like the Trinity, but then God ate LSD and multiplied by 50.
How can he even take the oath of office? One has to swear before God.
I’ll take whatever he believes over whatever Pence believes.
The last thing America needs; a Hindu President.
Vivek seems to be nice guy
But he can’t be POTUS.
He ain’t a Natural Born Citizen.
Oh yeah, neither is Florida Man.
Born in 1968. Mom Naturalized in 1983.
Sha zaaam!
I’ll reject both
Sorry that’s “born in 1978.”
Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party he heads is rabidly anti-Christian! Vivek liking/supporting Modi should tell Christians all they need to know about Vivek.
Here is his commencement address for St. Xavier High Class of 2003. I have cued it to the point where he explains what his religious beliefs are and how he got to them. Rewind and listen to the whole thing, and you will understand that he was chosen for this time.

Can we be serious please? I’ve been denounced by others in this forum for saying I don’t want someone who isn’t at least nominally a follower of Jehovah (that is, a Jew would be ok to me) to be President. That said, the oath is in the Constitution and does not include reference to God. George Washington spontaneously added “So help me God” at his first inaugural and it’s been a custom ever since
Don’t think Vivek meets Constitutional requirements regarding birth requirements.
I do not want either one.
Our worst presidents were Roman Catholic (46), Congregationalist (44) and Presbyterian (15), so that's not an issue with me.
Especially a Hindu President who has Soros hooks in him.
This issue of natural born citizenship comes up frequently here on Free Republic.
Some Freepers say, that both of your parents must have been citizens when you were born, for you to be a natural born citizen.
Other Freepers say, as long as you were born in America, you are natural born, regardless of the citizenship of your parents.
Which Freepers are we supposed to believe?
That’s an oxymoron.
