On Tuesday morning, Donald Trump’s legal team made what most would consider a very normal, reasonable request. Yet, it was quickly denied in a move that previews really rough seas ahead for the former president.
The controversy surrounds a hearing on a recent DOJ-requested protective order against Trump relating to a post he made on Truth Social attacking Mike Pence. Judge Tanya Chutkan, who is overseeing the D.C.-based election-related case, quickly set a hearing date of August 11th.
The problem? It wasn’t immediately clear that either of Trump’s primary lawyers could make that date. That led to a request that included coordination with the DOJ to offer August 9th and 10th as possible dates as well. In other words, both the defendant and prosecution were willing to work around each other to ensure everyone could make the hearing.
Further, Trump’s team stated that while they’d prefer to have both lawyers present, thereby suggesting August 14th or 15th, one of Trump’s lawyers would be available on August 10th. That is one of the dates the DOJ agreed would work for them.

There is a good chance she will just order Trump directly to jail the first chance she gets. However, it is certainly a given that she will rule against Trump at this hearing. She may even send him to jail then. He will be silenced and ordered not to speak of the case to anyone at all. Meanwhile, the DOJ will be able to continue to leak to the NYT and WaPo.
Next she’ll ban Trump’s lawyers from the courtroom

She now sits on the bench trying President Trump for challenging a Presidential election.
The bias is obvious: It's okay for Democrats to challenge elections (she'll even work for one), but it's not okay for Republicans to challenge elections (she'll even jail one).

I know! Can you believe we have a judge in such an important position in our nation that has no knowledge of the laws inherent in our justice system? These laws reflect our Constitution and its recognition that everyone is deemed innocent until proven guilty and all should be treated equally. She has obviously pre-determined Trump’s guilt and he will not be afforded a fair trial.
A higher Court is going to have to step in at some point soon and stop this miscarriage of justice.
Gag Orders, protective orders etc are often heard in an expedited manner. This is a non-story.
You are dealing with hot heads who have been taught their entire lives that republicans hate them, or racist, nazi’s, everything bad you can imagine

These leftist constantly discuss that republicans and Trump in particular belong in jail it doesn’t matter whether there is a specific crime they consider our viewpoint to be a crime

Whatever Trumps lawyers want, she’ll oppose. They might as well use reverse psychology and demand things they don’t want in order to get her to give them what they really want.
Well, if Trump would stop running his mouth about Pence, about the prosecutor, etc., he would not be facing a protective order. This is his doing, likely intentional. The judge setting a hearing date, letting the attorneys work it out is all pretty normal, so poor excuse for the article to be written (Or even posted on FR).

So you’re not in favor of the first amendment? You’d allow an out-of-control prosecutor to rake you over the coals in the media in hopes of tainting the jury pool and then meekly ask for “another?”
I have no doubt she is partisan but it is possible SHE was not available except the 11th. She has other cases.
