When a city councilman has to essentially beg his constituents to stop shoplifting.... He clearly has no leadership ability, and the city itself needs an entire overhaul.
When this grocery store closes its doors, this same councilman will be screaming "RACISM!"

Black shoplifters have a civil right to steal, and shutting down the local shop-and-rob deprives them of that civil right.
These business owners need to grow a spine and JUST CLOSE DOWN in the middle of the night without telling anyone. Just like Toyota did in SoCal a few years back. everything Big Mike tried to do, all the business they coerced, all the donations they “secured” to all the “community groups” in the inner city and it has done nothing. Whole foods in DC is locked up tighter than Rikers, Walmart bailed, mom and pop places are disappearing all because they want to remove consequence from action.

Shutting down stores doesn’t stop the shoplifting. The Pygmy cannibals just go hunting further out into the suburbs.

I worked for a major retailer many years ago. They told us to deter shoplifters with a warning shot in the back of the head. I think it was a joke, but I’m not positive.
Now they’re forced to carjack someone in order to do their stealin’.
They deserve their food deserts. Crap like that doesn’t happen in small towns because people don’t allow it to happen. It’s sickening to think there are so many people that live so close together in big cities that they are incapable of banding together to do the most basic things, like eliminating drug dealers, prostitutes, cleaning vacant lots, cleaning their own properties, stopping shoplifting and every other minor crime. Why can’t they find a mob of good people to thwart the mobs of bad people? (That’s a rhetorical question)
Yet another example of the lack of enforcing laws on the books.
I’m way out in the Maryland suburbs, and we’re already a ‘drugstore desert;. The two nearby drugstores closed a couple of months ago due to shoplifting.
It’s creeping out of the cities.
There’s no food deserts, only black neighborhoods.
