Today, I was proud to be joined by Secretary Kemi Badenoch of the UK to expand business opportunities between Florida and Britain, focusing on space, semiconductors and emerging industries.

De Santis has been good about moving away from Chinese economic involvement and finding other partners. I like the idea of getting more British connections going.
Maybe i missed that part of civics class, but since when do state Governors have the power to negotiate trade agreements ?
Another question, why is the UK representative black? Is she even British, or is she “British” like the invaders here are “american”?
Just wondering the same thing.
Florida and Great Britain trade agreement.
British give chocolate and caramel digestives and Jammie Dodgers.
Florida gives oranges, lemons and alligator watchbands and belts.
Plus sweetener of Florida Man personally signing framed newspaper stories of exploits.
It’s a bit of a farce. They signed “a memo”. The vast majority, not all, of this is so he can boost his campaign and appear presidential.
This will keep him up with Gavin Nuisance's China trip.
Newsom did the same thing with Chyna.
As long as the policies/trade agreements are okayed by Congress, then states can make them. Or are states supposed to wait for DC to micromanage their economies?
Limes for the Limeys.
Yeah, I wondered the same thing.
“…ninth agreement of its kind between the UK and states here in the US…”
Seems unless congress approved this agreement it is unconstitutional.
“No state shall, without the consent of Congress, lay any duty of tonnage, keep troops, or ships of war in time of peace, enter into any agreement or compact with another state, or with a foreign power, or engage in war, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent danger as will not admit of delay. “
Maybe i missed that part of civics class, but since when do state Governors have the power to negotiate trade agreements ?
Thank You—I was sondering the same myself...
As far as I know, they can do them, as long as they’re approved of by Congress, and since limp-wristed Congress isn’t apparently vetting such agreements, states can now do them willy-nilly.
