NBC News chief political analyst Chuck Todd said Sunday on “Meet the Press” that Republican presidential candidate former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC) was “not campaigning to win.”
Anchor Kristen Welker said, “Welcome back. For more on what to watch here in the final 48 hours and on Tuesday night, I am joined by my colleague.”
Todd said, “Governor Haley made the decision to cancel any debates only if Donald Trump showed up. And I understand the rational at the moment that she made that decision, but she really took away potential opportunities for her to make a last-minute case to these undeclared voters. Look, this is the last best chance she has to create the conditions that maybe Trump is vulnerable.”

Well her real goal is to take out MAGA candidates and make the world safe for RINOs in those places where an outright radical leftist cannot be elected. She has been successful in some ways. DeSantis is down. Now if she could just stop making Trump look better and better.

For two weeks in a row they’ve brought in F Chuck Todd. He was really bad, and she’s just as bad if not worse.
Our post-modern world has just gotten so utterly silly that you have to laugh at it. You ask these very serious folks to explain themselves and their deep thoughts, you know, like, in sentences, you know, that have subjects and verbs and objects, and you know where the verb is actually something that the subject could do to the object if they weren’t gender queer, and the responses all sound like Kamala talking.
I never cease to be amazed at how popular opinion is not only systematically wrong but gobsmackingly out of date.
Assuming that DeSantis and Haley want to live to fight another day, the smart thing for each of them is to withdraw after NH and endorse Trump. Haley will do herself nearly irreparable damage going into her home state and getting 20% of the vote. Better to withdraw ahead, and I say this as a Haley voter. DeSantis too. The party’s leaders are all lined up with Trump — Cruz, Rubio, Tim Scott, etc. — because this is all so obvious by now that it should go without saying.
She’s an ineligible anchor baby. 🙄
Being ineligible is a qualification is you are a Democrat—so maybe she can switch parties....

Maybe she is looking for 2028 when won’t have trump or Biden. Incidentally, Niki is not a rino. That is why Trump appointed her to be UN Ambassador.
Nikki Haley is the equivalent of Mitt Romney in 2012. She’s the designated loser. Her goal is to knock President Trump out of the race, and then to lose to Joe Biden.

I guess it depends how much money super donors throw at them to remain in as spoilers.
I’ve never had anyone throw huge sums of money at me - but I imagine it is very tempting. The idea that money is the root of all evil may have some merit - but money also solves a lot of problems - a lot of life’s worst worries and fears just evaporate.
I have some fabulously wealthy neighbors and believe me - not having to worry about money is a HUGE plus. Sure, tragedy can strike the rich and powerful - but there is a whole host of worries and fears that they are completely insulated from.
So, if you are trying to understand why these Republicans stay in the race when it is politically stupid to do so - I will suggest $$$ are the answer.
If you have a large political war chest left over after a failed run for office, the money doesn’t get returned - and as long as you hold out hope of a future run for office - there are infinite ways to legally make your life easier by writing things off as campaign expenses.
O top of that, the donors have infinite ways of contributing that skirt the off oak campaign contribution rules - stock tips - special deals on properties or ventures - payments for speeches and appearances. These politicians all seem to wind up rich one way or another.
