This gets brought up a lot here that Kerry violates the law when he goes on these "trips" and "meetings"

Has anyone ever been prosecuted for a Logan Act violation?

Doesn’t mean it can’t happen. It’s rare

Might be but it’s good to see he’s doing this..

Kerry flagrantly violates that law like no one else.

Is there a statute of limitations on treason?

American Patriots Against John Kerry

The 1970 meeting that John Kerry conducted with North Vietnamese communists violated U.S. law, according to an author and researcher who has studied the issue.

Kerry met with representatives from “both delegations” of the Vietnamese (North Vietnamese and Viet Cong) in Paris in 1970, according to Kerry’s own testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on April 22, 1971. But Kerry’s meetings with the Vietnamese delegations were in direct violation of laws forbidding private citizens from negotiating with foreign powers, according to researcher and author Jerry Corsi, who began studying the anti-war movement in the early 1970s.

According to Corsi, Kerry violated U.S. code 18 U.S.C. 953. “A U.S. citizen cannot go abroad and negotiate with a foreign power,” Corsi told CNSNews.com.

By Kerry’s own admission, he met in 1970 with delegations from the North Vietnamese communist government and discussed how the Vietnam Warshould be stopped.

Why waste the time? Investigation after investigation and nothing, absolutely nothing to show for it.

It’s a shame the dept of ‘just-us’ is controlled by demo-commie partisan hacks. They’ll treaty Kerry just like they did Holder. Which ought to have been the tipping point that led to the doj getting cleaned out, but, uniparty... just sayin’

I don’t see it as a waste

Kerry wilfully breaks the law like no one else has in the past when he goes on these foreign meetings and conspires.

He’s not even confirmed by the Senate?

Investigation after investigation and nothing, absolutely nothing to show for it.

Kinda sucks, but that is reality.

They will find something, but recommend no charges.

I looked it up there have only been two indictments from the Logan Act in U.S. history were in 1852 and 1803. Those indictments never went anywhere.

They said Obama violated it. They said Trump did. They said Kerry did. Never happens.

So what.

The law Obama / Biden admin are prosecuting Assange over is rarely used but they’re using it

The J6 and “obstruction of congress” law they use is rarely used but they’re using it

Dozens of examples of this

Hope so, but I bet they take it “backstage” instead.

IIRC Kerry was still in the military when he committed that treason, so wouldn’t UCMJ apply.

Kerry should not be allowed to galivant around the globe conspiring with foreign powers

There is a reason for that law and while it’s rarely used like many others it’s nonetheless possible to investigate and hopefully point this out

I think there has been some debate about that which prompted the Swift Boat Vets to demand that Kerry produce a form 180 to release his mil. records.

He never did so the debate remains an open question.

Or so I understand. :)

But, yes, you would be correct, if he was still serving at the time he would have been subject to the UCMJ.
It would still be treason for a civilian to do what he did.

People here call for treason trials all the time but when those laws are by definition rarely used we’re told to forget it?

Sometimes I wonder what Freepers want in an ideal world...
