A suspect who allegedly opened fire on an Albany, New York, police officer Wednesday morning died from gunshot wounds after the officer returned fire.
Syracuse.com reported the officer approached the car during a 12:30 a.m. traffic stop and the suspect stepped out from behind it and began shooting. The officer shot back, killing the suspect.
The officer was wounded during the exchange of gunfire but remained conscious and is expected to survive.
Breitbart News reported that a Syracuse police officer and a Onondaga County sheriff’s deputy were shot and fatally wounded Sunday night in Salina, New York. The suspect who opened fire on them was killed as well.
Mike Bloomberg-affiliated Everytown for Gun Safety ranks New York as the No. 2 state in the Union for gun control laws, describing the state as an “innovator” on gun control.

Albany NY, another Dem mayor city riddled with criminals they never punish. Thankfully this one got quick justice.

If he did in fact commence firing on a police officer I am glad the sob is dead from return fire from the officer. I’m sick of this War on Cops! F the perp.

“Earlier this morning, an Albany police officer was shot after approaching a vehicle he had previously attempted to stop for traffic violations,” Sheehan said in a statement released around 5 a.m. “Chief Hawkins has reviewed the body camera footage and based on the chief’s review it is clear this officer was ambushed in an act of depraved gun violence.”
Sheehan is by accounts an inept Leftist Marxist Democrat.
It’s so bad in Albany that the county sheriff (also a Dem, but more of a centrist) intervened last year and began patrolling the city because the APD chief and mayor were (and remain) comically inept.
A happy ending.
If someone starts the shooting, that person’s family should NEVER have the option of suing.
