Has anyone else noticed Hitlery's behavior the past 2 or 3 days? I've been forced to watch her, since she's been on the news everywhere. This woman, who embraced and kissed Yasser Arafat's wife, has shown her true anti-American colors in these ways:
1. Hillary has made NO strong public (or even a private) statement condemning the celebratory behavior of the Palestinians. Hillary publicly embraces their leaders, and is silent when their people cheer the deaths of her constituents.
2. Hitlery has avoided blatant public support for the President--something no other politician has done. She is relatively silent on the subject, when the consensus even among fellow liberals is to stand with enthusiasm behind the Commander in Chief.
3. Hitlery, in her statement following the Senate vote for $40 Billion in relief funds, gave credit to a great number of people, and as almost an afterthought, mentioned that the President agreed to what was requested. The statement she made was an attempt to make Mr. Bush look like he had to be PERSUADED to increase help...nothing could be further from the truth.
4. Hitlery did not accompany Mr. Bush to the site of destruction in New York. Indeed, even the ultra-liberal Charles Schumer stood beside the President during this visit. Perhaps the former First Lady didn't want to be in the shadow of a President and her Senior Senator.
5. Hitlery has avoided referring to Mr. Bush as the nation's leader. Again in comparison with the senior Senator Schumer, himself no friend of G.W. Bush, she's been missing in action. Mr. Schumer said in his address to the Senate on September 12 that partisanship was not acceptable on this issue--that the President was the leader, and that Americans were the followers. Hillary seems to purposely avoid endorsing that point.
Also, when the Congress sang "God Bless America" Tuesday night, the camera panned and she was nowhere to be found, even though she wore that ugly turquoise suit so she could stand out.
Even notable eye-roll-inducing idjits like Sheila Jackson Lee have been admirable in their resolute stance in supporting the President, even though they realize that his excellent handling of this job will pretty much ensure his re-election in '04. They have, remarkably, decided to put the nation's interests (for once) ahead of the Democrat pary's, at least for now.
Not to say this will last--it can't--but I can't fault the WWW (Wicked Witch of the West) for anything she has done (or failed to do) thus far.
(FWIW, I think it is really unrealistic to expect "we interrupt this program to bring you this Hillary Clinton news brief: HRC condemns ululating Palestinian woman!" Let's try to stick to "first things first," please).
No, no, no. Rick had his chance - - and blew it. Somebody of much greater stature - - dare I say gravitas - - has to go up against her next time. MAybe Rudy???
