In case of a nuclear attack where I live, I will, One: Drink a fifth of whiskey, Two: I will bend over, and Three: Kiss my A## good-by, for I won't want to be here after a nuclear war, anyway!

Wrong about the gas masks A-PUNK. Thr British issued gas masks to their population during the Battle of Britain. (Thats in 1940 to those of you educated in California)

Taking off your outer clothing can remove roughly 80 percent of the contamination hazard.

I heard that some Scots and English troops were hit with a mustard gas attack in WWI. The Scots were dressed in kilts, which they quickly shed, and were able to avoid serious injury. The English wore trousers and boots, and suffered severe burns to their legs, as they could not be removed as quickly.

I would be beyond worrying. if we get a general nuclear war, it's going to be bad beyond understanding. There may be survivors, but it's going to be a long, long time until earth is a pleasant place again. The danger is great right now, which pleases the OBLs, no doubt.

I was worried till I thought about it.

The US is big. We can, if confronted with Gottdammerung, absorb fifty 50 Kiloton devices and still function long enough to expend our 6,000 warheads.

If OBL fondly fantasizes about crawling out of the rubble of World War III to infect the survivors with his filthy little cult, he is wrong.

No, let me tell you what will really happen:

A holocaust against Islam by the enraged survivors that will make Stalin and Hitler look like girl scouts.

Sorry, but it is just human nature.

It is NOT fair to judge the Southern Baptists by the actions of the KKK, so it follows that If good, peaceful Muslims wish to make the distinction between their actual faith, and OBL's filthy cult, they had better start ACTING to distance themselves from it, and SHOUTING their condemnation of his cult, so that WE CAN HEAR IT AND HEAR IT OFTEN!

I CAN'T HEAR YOU!

I CAN'T HEAR YOU!

I dunno what your trying to get at. But in the case of a nuke war, if your outside of the immediate blast zone...5 to 7 miles from ground zero, you will most likely survive. That is unless you decide to simply stay outside all the time to let the REM dose accumulate. Get the book "Life after Doomsday" no shit thats the name, it is the most factual book ever put together on the issue. None of this doom and gloom we are all dead crap the loonies would like you to believe. How many survived the Japanese Bombings..HMMMMM? Outside of the central blast zone a very high per cent survived.

You're right, by then, it is already too late.

Thanks for posting this. It is counter-productive to argue classification and semantics here. There is a lot of great info in this article.

Wellll, since I can't drink, I think I'd go outside, look up into the sky, raise my arms and shout "explode one right ontop me, you bastards!"
Because, there's no way I want to see the day after it happens.
I can imagine people killing one-another for a drink of water...

Re: being raised in the fifties... Aah, the fifties -- those good old days of "drop drills" in class and the last-Friday-of-the-month civil defense sirens going off (testing). And let's not forget Kruschev's "We will bury you!" speech made while pounding his shoe on a table. Oh yeah, it was a blast! And my sixth grade teacher did her best to really scare the hell out of us. During the Cuban Missile Crisis of == when was that, 1961? -- people all around were stockpiling food for the upcoming expected war. Maybe that's why I'm more angry than scared these days -- and folks older than I are even less scared -- they've been through WWII, after all, and the Great Depression. We'll get through this just the way we've gotten through everything else --

What the heck is the matter with you two ?

Just because some weasel tosses off a few nuclear bombs does not mean the end of freakin civilization.

Sure most of the country might slip back to the 1800's level of technology with a few extra hazards but that's not enough to wish for death.

You are HUMAN .... that means that you have to learn to adapt, improvise and survive.

Laying down and dying is for liberals ... not freepers and conservatives.
