"Have no idea about 'Battle Axe's refugee'..."

It's nothing important; only means you previously posted at Ldot (Lucianne's place) & were run out in the last of the old bag's, "Cultural Purges." C? ~no biggy.

"I considered myself honored to be a friend of Mudboy Slim's...try to always read his posts."

Yea. I try too. ;^)

"I saw your post, was feeling a little light-hearted and replied with 'variety.'"

I *think* I figured out that much...decided to tease you a bit myself. Glad you've a sense of humor; because I'll tell you, there's a real cross-section of people with all the personality variation (problems) that'll present?

"I too struggle and struggle and struggle to stay in a workout routine. Seems to be either 'feast or famine.' Did not miss a single day for four months. Now, sheesh, I'm not sure I know the way to the gym."

Then you haven't figured out [yet] that for most people there's a rhythem which greatly influences (& in some case actually dictates) their lives; actually determines what they'll do & not do as well as the probability for success, LBG.
No "New Age" crap here, either; just a horse sense which says one cannot be all things, all the time. So know thyself; & then when you've figured it out?
Play to your strength(s).
Personally, I take the fall months of Oct, Nov, & Dec completely off. Never go near my gym. My wife says I've a cycle similar to a bear in that I "beef up" for the winter months...only to wake up come January with a fresh, new resolve & a few *rolls* to motivate me.
If you haven't already, read Arnold Schwartenegger's bio; he speaks to this matter.
Of course Arnie's a 7-Time World Champ & you & I want only to stay modestly fit, cut, & healthy...nonetheless, we merely do less than Arnold & he never trained for an event any sooner than eight weeks prior to an event!
But then...his diet changed drastically along with eight-hour sessions that were nothing but dead-serious.
Point is: take this time off & do not beat yourself up for having stopped.
Instead, be thinking about when you're going to start again.
Give yourself a break...few others will, ya know.
You're to be congradulated for what you've done, as far as I'm concerned.
Believe it or not, but an important part of *your* "variety" advise might be for YOU: to use this time you've been leaking off to relax, enjoy life, eat & drink as it pleases you while being as happy as you can.
As serious is to silly, ambition is to sloth, vanity is to humility & all have their place within one's life. ~Variety.
The day's going to come, when a spring breeze will bring with it a renewed vision, inspiration, & the desire you'll instinctivly know will drive you to look as good as you feel; & you'll know how that can be achieved besides whining & bitching.
Anyway, when that day comes for you, nail it; & never force it.

"As for Washington, I just moved here from NJ a few months ago. Had only two rainy days out of 60 until last week...now there is moss growing on the blacktop. I'll let you know in a few more months!!!!"

My wife's an executive in the health care industry. She was entertaining an offer with an outfit which would've placed us in Seattle, WA.
Naturally, I was concerned about weather & did a meteorlogical search on the Internet for data concerning Seattle's weather ranking et al...
To my complete surprise I learned in reality, Chicago recieves much more precipitation than does Seattle; the catch being, much of Chicago's precipitation comes in the form of snow & as such isn't measured as "rain" per se.
But being from that area originally I don't care what they call it, it's water. {g}
Interesting, no?

"As to the lonegreeneyeshade. Well, the Lone Ranger was one of my favorite heros....knew black from white, was willing to give it all for his beliefs, and never wanted anyone to know his identity. True humility. True bravery. True integrity. So I borrowed from his name."

Then...I can expect the same from you? {g}

"The green eyeshade is long-lost slang for an accountant, which I was by profession until I found myself in the middle of a 'scandal' which is now my full-time occupation."

Therein lie a tale to be told, I'm thinking...yea.

"BTW, the new pay stinks."

The stuff's only good for spendin' anyway.
If you've health, love & happiness?
You're getting all the pay anyone will ever need, & then some.

"Look forward to posting with you."

Well then, look back.
We'll run across one another again, I'm sure.
It's, the will of Landru.
ciao.

Thanks for the pleasant post. Think I have found a new friend.

I do try not to beat myself up too much for failing to achieve my artificial objectives. I daily remind myself to "go with the flow."

Quite honestly, at the risk of whining, I've given up almost everything in the way of pleasure, except for "dead culture watch"---another Freeper whom I met here last spring and am now sharing "happily ever after" with, in pursuit of some very bad guys. A very long story and one that a only a few at FR know a little about because I've needed moral support. It is my desire to stay anonymous---as much for selfish reasons as heroism. It's dangerous stuff. But alas, I fear that soon, and I do so hope the exposure is very soon, my face may be seen on the nightly news. I will avoid this at all costs, including a witness protection escape, if only for awhile. I truly do not mean to sound so "mysterious" but I am under "GAG" orders and eyes and ears are everywhere!

BTW, hibernation tendancies, I believe happen quite naturally. No need to beat ourselves up for natural inclinations!!!! Somewhere along the way, I was brainwashed into believing that I would be a better person if I could only rise above the natural. My hard learned lesson, be myself. I am so much happier, peaceful, and enjoyable to be around than when I am "tilting at windmills!"

LOL...so weird!! I annually lose 15-20 in the Winter only to pick it up when I start partyin' and FReepin' again in the Spring/Summer!! My annual high point--weightwise--is November 27th...then it's downhill through the Holidays and The Dark Months of January and February and part of March. Every year, somewhere between March and April I start gettin' ornery again...FReepTime goes way up, BeerIntake goes way up, and the GymTime goes down markedly!!

If ya really wanna rassle me, BOY, don't NEVER do it in March!! I'll put a hurtin' on ya yer lover wouldn't appreciate!!
