"Have no idea about 'Battle Axe's refugee'..."

It's nothing important; only means you previously posted at Ldot (Lucianne's place) & were run out in the last of the old bag's, "Cultural Purges." C? ~no biggy.

"I considered myself honored to be a friend of Mudboy Slim's...try to always read his posts."

Yea. I try too. ;^)

"I saw your post, was feeling a little light-hearted and replied with 'variety.'"

I *think* I figured out that much...decided to tease you a bit myself. Glad you've a sense of humor; because I'll tell you, there's a real cross-section of people with all the personality variation (problems) that'll present?

"I too struggle and struggle and struggle to stay in a workout routine. Seems to be either 'feast or famine.' Did not miss a single day for four months. Now, sheesh, I'm not sure I know the way to the gym."

Then you haven't figured out [yet] that for most people there's a rhythem which greatly influences (& in some case actually dictates) their lives; actually determines what they'll do & not do as well as the probability for success, LBG.
No "New Age" crap here, either; just a horse sense which says one cannot be all things, all the time. So know thyself; & then when you've figured it out?
Play to your strength(s).
Personally, I take the fall months of Oct, Nov, & Dec completely off. Never go near my gym. My wife says I've a cycle similar to a bear in that I "beef up" for the winter months...only to wake up come January with a fresh, new resolve & a few *rolls* to motivate me.
If you haven't already, read Arnold Schwartenegger's bio; he speaks to this matter.
Of course Arnie's a 7-Time World Champ & you & I want only to stay modestly fit, cut, & healthy...nonetheless, we merely do less than Arnold & he never trained for an event any sooner than eight weeks prior to an event!
But then...his diet changed drastically along with eight-hour sessions that were nothing but dead-serious.
Point is: take this time off & do not beat yourself up for having stopped.
Instead, be thinking about when you're going to start again.
Give yourself a break...few others will, ya know.
You're to be congradulated for what you've done, as far as I'm concerned.
Believe it or not, but an important part of *your* "variety" advise might be for YOU: to use this time you've been leaking off to relax, enjoy life, eat & drink as it pleases you while being as happy as you can.
As serious is to silly, ambition is to sloth, vanity is to humility & all have their place within one's life. ~Variety.
The day's going to come, when a spring breeze will bring with it a renewed vision, inspiration, & the desire you'll instinctivly know will drive you to look as good as you feel; & you'll know how that can be achieved besides whining & bitching.
Anyway, when that day comes for you, nail it; & never force it.

"As for Washington, I just moved here from NJ a few months ago. Had only two rainy days out of 60 until last week...now there is moss growing on the blacktop. I'll let you know in a few more months!!!!"

My wife's an executive in the health care industry. She was entertaining an offer with an outfit which would've placed us in Seattle, WA.
Naturally, I was concerned about weather & did a meteorlogical search on the Internet for data concerning Seattle's weather ranking et al...
To my complete surprise I learned in reality, Chicago recieves much more precipitation than does Seattle; the catch being, much of Chicago's precipitation comes in the form of snow & as such isn't measured as "rain" per se.
But being from that area originally I don't care what they call it, it's water. {g}
Interesting, no?

"As to the lonegreeneyeshade. Well, the Lone Ranger was one of my favorite heros....knew black from white, was willing to give it all for his beliefs, and never wanted anyone to know his identity. True humility. True bravery. True integrity. So I borrowed from his name."

Then...I can expect the same from you? {g}

"The green eyeshade is long-lost slang for an accountant, which I was by profession until I found myself in the middle of a 'scandal' which is now my full-time occupation."

Therein lie a tale to be told, I'm thinking...yea.

"BTW, the new pay stinks."

The stuff's only good for spendin' anyway.
If you've health, love & happiness?
You're getting all the pay anyone will ever need, & then some.

"Look forward to posting with you."

Well then, look back.
We'll run across one another again, I'm sure.
It's, the will of Landru.
ciao.

26.2 miles----an eternity!!!!!!!!!!!! Best I ever did was 5 miles in the Atlanta "sprint" way, way long ago. I finished, but barely. It was on the 4th of July and very, very hot. Cannot imagine even attempting such a feat today. My workout is mostly weights---for tone, not bulk, like to keep my feminine shape---not compete with the jocks---and some aerobic work on the bicycle. I HATE RUNNING, but have great respect for those that do it!!! Way too much for my tolerance, or lack thereof, for pain.

BTW, there is no rest for the weary until this (blank, blank, blank) mess is turned over to (blank) once and for all. The road is L O N G with many a winding turn. These guys were not stupid. Evil, greedy, traitors. But not stupid. Chaotic by design and incredibly clever. Requires a great deal of "thinking out of the box", an artform that many believe if an oxymoron for we financial types. Thankfully, I had a great education in my many years of negotiation of acquisitions, divestitures, etc. at a former employer. Like I've said before, if anyone who knew anything had read my resume, I would never have gotten in the door. Their loss, our gain. But even harder than uncovering the trail is explaining it to my "team" so that they are equally convinced as to what they are seeing. No one wants any surprises! So my background as an algebra teacher has also been very valuable---take the complex and break it down, variable by variable, and solve one at a time, bit by bit, until you get E=MC2! (Don't know the HTML for "squared"!)

Thanks for the pleasant post. Think I have found a new friend.

I do try not to beat myself up too much for failing to achieve my artificial objectives. I daily remind myself to "go with the flow."

Quite honestly, at the risk of whining, I've given up almost everything in the way of pleasure, except for "dead culture watch"---another Freeper whom I met here last spring and am now sharing "happily ever after" with, in pursuit of some very bad guys. A very long story and one that a only a few at FR know a little about because I've needed moral support. It is my desire to stay anonymous---as much for selfish reasons as heroism. It's dangerous stuff. But alas, I fear that soon, and I do so hope the exposure is very soon, my face may be seen on the nightly news. I will avoid this at all costs, including a witness protection escape, if only for awhile. I truly do not mean to sound so "mysterious" but I am under "GAG" orders and eyes and ears are everywhere!

BTW, hibernation tendancies, I believe happen quite naturally. No need to beat ourselves up for natural inclinations!!!! Somewhere along the way, I was brainwashed into believing that I would be a better person if I could only rise above the natural. My hard learned lesson, be myself. I am so much happier, peaceful, and enjoyable to be around than when I am "tilting at windmills!"

LOL,LGE

LOL...so weird!! I annually lose 15-20 in the Winter only to pick it up when I start partyin' and FReepin' again in the Spring/Summer!! My annual high point--weightwise--is November 27th...then it's downhill through the Holidays and The Dark Months of January and February and part of March. Every year, somewhere between March and April I start gettin' ornery again...FReepTime goes way up, BeerIntake goes way up, and the GymTime goes down markedly!!

If ya really wanna rassle me, BOY, don't NEVER do it in March!! I'll put a hurtin' on ya yer lover wouldn't appreciate!!

I do try not to beat myself up too much for failing to achieve my artificial objectives. I daily remind myself to 'go with the flow.'"

Then you're already there; wished I'd had sensed [that] sooner so I wouldn't have blathered-on ad nauseum. {g}
Practicing to read one's own peaks & valleys can be fun.
...& look, at my age, fun or a good thrill of any kind is hard to come by. {g}

"Quite honestly, at the risk of whining, I've given up almost everything in the way of pleasure..."

Never forget we live in a day & age whereby *they'd* have us believe in quantity over quality; & while for kids that may be a truism?
I find such a POV produces nothing more than a lot of garbage.
If you follow my drift?

"...except for 'dead culture watch'---another Freeper whom I met here last spring and [I] am now sharing 'happily ever after' with, in pursuit of some very bad guys. A very long story and one that a only a few at FR know a little about because I've needed moral support."

One day?
I should be honored to hear of this adventure; when & if I merit such trust?
You're not alone in pursuing "bad guys," either...just sniff 'round & locate posters, "Donald Stone," or "Connecthedots" & you will see.

"It is my desire to stay anonymous---as much for selfish reasons as heroism. It's dangerous stuff. But alas, I fear that soon, and I do so hope the exposure is very soon, my face may be seen on the nightly news. I will avoid this at all costs, including a witness protection escape, if only for awhile."

Sounds heavy.
I should think it'd behove your best interests to leave it go at that, then. Really.

"I truly do not mean to sound so 'mysterious' but I am under 'GAG' orders and eyes and ears are everywhere!"

Then...shhhhhh.

"BTW, hibernation tendancies, I believe happen quite naturally. No need to beat ourselves up for natural inclinations!!!!"

That's absolutely correct; so why is it so many try so hard to attain so little I do not know; when really, it's all just a matter of timing?
Not that I should care about the business of other's; I do not...not as long as I live in a land known for freedom.

"Somewhere along the way, I was brainwashed into believing that I would be a better person if I could only rise above the natural."

HA! Your lesson?
Needn't feel you're alone on this account.
Not nearly...

"My hard learned lesson, be myself. I am so much happier, peaceful, and enjoyable to be around than when I am 'tilting at windmills!'"

If this works for you?
Go for it...
Still; some people are being themselves when they behave as they will, "tilting at windmills."
To change them or have them changed?
Would be to change them; that is a double-edged sword.
I like saying to certain people, at certain times, a line from a favorite old song I once knew..."You're strange, but don't change..."
Variety in this context *is* for me the very essence of, the spice of life.

"Thanks for the pleasant post."

Believe me when I say, the pleasure's been all mine.
I'd like to think I can spot an individual from a mile away; & for me?
It's only individuals I care to make acquaintance with; time being as scarce as it is & all.

"Think I have found a new friend."

Make no mistake...I know I have.
Let's do this again sometime & remember, "It riles 'em to believe you'd percieve the web they weave...& keep on thinkin' free."

Right? :^)

"It was on the 4th of July and very, very hot."

Well, no $#!+, Sherlock...whatcha doin' runnin' races in July?!

"I HATE RUNNING, but have great respect for those that do it!!! Way too much for my tolerance, or lack thereof, for pain."

No pain...just whatever I put on my Walkman. Seriously...you wanna run fer seven miles?! Chart a course, put on a good Limbaugh 30-minute cassette, and get hoofin' it!! Seven four-minute miles later yer finishing up with two minutes left over fer the warmdown...LOL!!

"BTW, there is no rest for the weary until this (blank, blank, blank) mess is turned over to (blank) once and for all. The road is L O N G with many a winding turn."

I git yer drift, mi amigo.

"These guys were not stupid. Evil, greedy, traitors. But not stupid."

Sorry, my FRiend, but I heartily disagree!! Them arrogantly-idiotic Leftist Bastards were indescribably STOOOOOPID to think they could get away with what they did to this Nation!! If it wasn't you blowin' the whistle, it'd have been someone else...NO WAY all the American Patriots keep their mouths shut, no matter how much Power we've ceded to the Effete Elitists!!

"Chaotic by design and incredibly clever."

Clever, yes, and SLICK...but absolutely lackin' in WISDOM!!

"Requires a great deal of "thinking out of the box", an artform that many believe if an oxymoron for we financial types. "I annually lose 15-20 in the Winter only to pick it up when I start partyin' and FReepin' again in the Spring/Summer!!"

Then you must plan your cycle for attack based on the approaching summer months when you like kicking back & piggin' out on whatever.
Simple as that, Mud.
We're all different & I'm confident when I say nearly all of us are accutely aware of the cycles we go through.
Yet those same people are woefully poor at managing their time & engineering a plan of attack which'll use this natural time-framework in an efficient manner.

For example: I focus almost entirely on my guitar(s), business (art) during these fall months.
Since doing so is very cerebral by comparrison to the gym-rat routine of spring?

btw, I'm an Aries late-March Baby; so mabbe you best pick a different month for that rasslin' match?
You'll be playing to my strength otherwise, son. {g}

(To be sung to Fleetwood Mac's "Don't Stop (Thinkin' 'bout Tomorrow)")

Hear my words, "EX-President, he's VILE!!
DemocRATS, got'em a sleazy style!"
Open yer eyes and hear what I say,
"Slick's scandals, they ain't goin' away!"

Don't stop investigatin' Clinton,
Don't stop, Slick's Prosecution's near!
Liberal lies won't protect Left's Whore...
Bill Clinton's gone...Slick Willie's done!!

Why not sing about Billzabubba?
Medyuh ignores the things that he's done.
Yes, the Left's been foolin' you,
Elite's arrogance just belittles you!!

Don't stop trashin' this lout, EX-President...
Don't stop, there's no need for fear!
Election year's right around the bend...
DemocRAT scum, the rout is on!!

(Guitar solo)

All I want is to see Bill IN CHAINS...
It won't take but a little while.
Right will fight until Bill is through...
Treas'nous ways must discontinue!!

Don't stop investigatin' Algore...
Don't stop, his guilt's all too clear!
We can do much better than Algore...
Fear mongering's wrong, Prince Crisis's done!

Don't stop eliminatin' guv'ment!
Don't stop, 'cuz Freedom we hold dear!!
Future looks brighter than before,
With Liberal's gone, Big Guv'ments done!!
