Is anybody really surprised by any of this? Did we really expect Bill or Hillary Clinton to have to actually pay for their crimes?

I like the idea too...but wouldn't it be proper for the Junior Senator to recuse herself in this case? Seems as though she should since she's one of the folks being scrutinized.

My goal is get the hell out of New York,,,,not sure where yet...but anywhere but here.

When the Beast came to NY, we bought two acres on Lake James, NC and will start building new house next year. Then we're outa NY.

Hillary did this when she was president. You know, put her handpicked people in
positions which nullified pretty much every investigation into both of them slimballs.

"The President will nominate an experienced highly respected prosecutor with no political agenda (as he always should), and Hillary will not object"

There is certainly no guarantee that an experienced, highly-respected prosecutor will be nominated. There are plenty of hack U.S. Attorneys around. The next U.S. Attorney in the S.D.N.Y. should have the same law enforcement agenda as the President and Attorney General Ashcroft. If not, he should not take the job. It is very rare for a Senator to interfere with the U.S. Attorney choice of the opposition party in power in the White House. (Typically, the choice of a new U.S. Attorney is made by the Senator(s), from the relevant State, whose party is in the White House. The nomination is made by the President only in a formal sense. New York will be a little different since it has no Republican Senator. The White House may get input from the G.O.P. House delegation.) This is different from the situation with prospective judges. Only in the rarest instance will a Senator interfere with a U.S. Attorney nominee. Having said that, you can trust Hillary Clinton to try and blue slip any nominee, no matter how qualified, who is seen as a danger to her. She is really sui generis, with the emphasis on sui.

Right on! Bush/Ashcroft are doing more than just sticking their heads in the sand -- they are aiding and abetting the Clinton Organized Crime Family. Bush just signed an Executive Order that makes it much more difficult for the public to access records and documents of previous Presidents. Apparently, Bush does not want us to know about all of Clinton's crimes and cover-ups. What a country! This crap is okay with the sheeple.

Hitlery has never given the slightest care to how her actions appear in the eyes of the public.

It's not what she cares about that's important here...it's what the public cares about. Last year, at around this time...it appeared like a majority of NY'ers cared alot about her.
All those folks who voted for her are finally getting to see the real hillary. I know most of them probably didn't vote for her, anyway, but it would be nice if the Paul McCartney fund-raiser (when she was boo-ed) was just a sample of what the rest of NY is now thinking.

Why doesn't the Justice Department move the case(s) to a different Judge? Why does Mary Jo's successor get the job automatically?

"That policy effectively gives Clinton the ability to reject - by not returning a positive review of the nominee, on a blue slip of paper - any nominee to take over the office that is handling the investigation into her and her husband."

Of course no conflict of interest here, huh? NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (/sarcasm)

Does anyone really think that the people who elected Hillary-babes to the senate really care?

There are so many pro-Rudy's here that I hate to be the one dissenting voice, but we took the moral high road against Clinton and his adulterous liasons. While Rudy seems to have been excellent for New York and after 9-11 his ratings soared even higher, he did attempt to move his mistress into the same house with his wife and children. IMO, he showed a distinctive lack of respect for traditional family values.

Yes, he was in the process of a divorce, but he showed a lack of respect for his constituency by not waiting until the papers were signed, and being so public with his new partner.

While Clinton deserves to be castrated for his rape and abuses of women, Rudy at least deserves a major slap on the wrist. We should not excuse him just because we like his politics. That is exactly what too many democRATS did with Clinton. We will not get better behavior from our elected officials unless we demand that they set a decent example, so we should not be too quick to jump on his bandwagon.

Having said that, however, considering the current political fires, Rudy probably would be the best choice to go after Hitlery.

And a recess appointment is the best idea.

Miss Marple suggested that Rudy be named the US Attorney

ROTFL!!

Great idea, but all that adulation has probably gone to his head and he wouldn't want to risk it by doing a bad meanie-type job again. And I'll let him off the hook. He has done his share, so let him enjoy his post-prostate cancer life.
