The local radio in Midland home of the Confederate Air Force just announced that they have changed their name. The CAF states that the change is due to loss of corporate sponsors. The new name will be announced later today nothing follows.How 'bout:

agree with you, but mostly am pleased the group will continue. The headline on this thread was misleading. A change in the name isn't that important but preservation of those great warbirds is, IMHO. Yes the group will continue, but the sad fact is they had to capitulate to a few who won't stop until they have successfully altered anything or any group which they find offensive..........It's the principle of the whole thing that should count!!

Just an after thought: How many people would concede to having their names changed merely because someone didn't like the sound of it or the ethnic background it might possibly represent or that it may just offfend someone? Bert ! Where did ya get the info about the sponsors ?? I read the news release but couldn't locate that part. I'd like to know who the sponsors are so I can show em what losing support is really like by boycotting their sorry @sses if thats the case.

If they are changing for the single purpose of Political Correctness and sponsorship I suggest they rename themselves ........"THE FLAT EARTH SOCIETY" and use that pic of the guy with his head up his butt as a logo (post it if ya have it).
I remember when the Albuquerque Balloon Fest was renamed for sponsorship reasons to Kodak Balloon Festival. Personally I think it was because no one could spell Albuquerque correct (did I ?:o)
