I thought the article was great. I am relatively new here, but I saw the same pattern of pirhana-like behavior that I've seen here before: biting and tearing at the man without discrediting his argument.

Except for the offbase aside on supporting Israel and the talk about the Confederate flag, I look in vain for something in this article that hasn't already been said by some prominent GOPer.

I am a captain in the USAF and yet I've had even my own patriotism questioned because I've made pointed statements regarding Bush's dealings with China. I see China as a mortal threat to this country and as one charged with its defense, I think it within my scope of responsibility to reflect on what I see as a major error on Bush's part. What is wrong with holding the Constitution in one hand, and comparing the actions of our federal government against it and noting the discrepancies? Isn't that the job of every concerned American??

And if you find discrepancies, is it hateful, bitter, or lowering oneself to being a "Lewser" or "blame-America-first" flack if you point them out? We may not all agree on the individual analyses, but does that mean we have to descend to personalities and become snide and insulting in our responses?

Unfortunately, the whole damned world is flea-ridden, even Canada, and even the US.

Come on, dealing with the Middle East is nothing like dealing with Europe, Africa, Asia, etc.

So you have to be willing to embrace isolationism to be flea-free,

So you are either with the globalists, or you are with the isolationists? Do I only get to choose between the 2 extremes?

and if you think isolationism works between nations, consider: If you completely isolate a town, it's economy will crumble. It is the same with a nation.

I thought we were talking about foreign policy, not trade. If we are now talking about trade, I don't know how you could think a town and a nation are the same thing. I have the same thoughts on foreign policy that our forefathers had, and that served us well. As "isolationists," we were able to expand the size of this nation many times over. No one here is talking about isolation except for the globalists. Some of us would prefer to be engaged with the rest of the world without constantly exposing our soft underbelly. I hope that the globalists can go back and relearn that lesson before we do it again the hard way.
