Regarding the "bunker" ... check out the pics with the scouts ... only "bunkers" there are the snow caves ... and those save lives.
But thanks for the BUMPs ... I'll play the BUMP game on this thread with you all day and let other folks make up their own mind.
Either my site or Amazon are fine with me, although Barnes and Nobles carries it online too.
Amazon has credit card ordering and helps woith the rankings that larger publishers are looking at.
My site allows for signatures and what not, has to deal with snail mail delivery but gets a little donation from each book to FR (5.00).
Your choice.
Thanks for asking.
Jeff, you don't have to be very big to take plastic. It really doesn't cost you very much if you use one of the many credit card services. The service performs the transaction for you, and forwards the money after deducting their fee. This takes most of the headaches out of it.
A friend of mine does this, and he only takes in two - three thousand per month.
You probably already know about this. If so, in the words of one of the great philosophers from SNL, "never mind!"
It's all happening pretty much word of mouth too. I'm hoping that some larger publication house picks up on it and really does a marketing job on it ... at that point it could really take off!
Nothing wrong with dreaming.
I probably should have added that they also forward the order information, so you can ship the product.
If you are at 60,000 at Amazon that is quite respectable. You are selling at a level of your average list title in a chain bookstore. The best my book, The Way of the Wolf reached on a consistent basis was the low 30's.
In any case, congrats on having the guts to see through the long and laborious process of seeing a novel through from the idea stage to publication.
Eric, a fellow FReeper author.
Someone referred me to the outfit that is doing the "Ebook" transactions, but they will not do anything that has to be shipped, only electronic transfers.
I guess I'd best look into it.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks for the info.
I'll certainly check out your book too. Got to support each other.
Mine is a series of five books, Breath of Fire being the first. It's a military techno-thriller about a World War III that arises out of the current circumstances. This exerpt is from Vol. Two, Trodden Under, which I plan to publish in late May.

Stay well - Stay safe - Stay armed - Yorktown
(That was low thirty thousands, don't be too impressed)
Watch your sales and if it does well, take screenshots and print them up. Then find yourself a literary agent (it isn't as hard as some make it sound). Write to authors whose works you enjoy, for example you sound like the William Johnstone type, and find out who represents them. Then go to that agent with your manuscripts. You've got two things going for you at that point
I wouldn't be suprised at all if you got picked up by an agent, and that makes publication by a major house way easier.
Congratulations on your ratings. I would expect some more people would be attracted to events set on homesoil, then maybe they'll backtrack to Volume I.
