Sounds like quite the party.

I'm supposed to be going out of town around then, so let me check my schedule, which of course is at work. :-)

Are Freeper doggies welcome?

Good to hear from ya! I'm looking forward to getting some pictures of FReepers on the battleship, defending the ship channel. I don't think this would be a dog friendly environment - but maybe at our membership drive picnic in May.

To: RikaStrom, all
I talked to several wonderful women at the State Park...dogs are allowed...but they stressed, that due to the crowds, they advise that dogs and small children stay home. Too much activity, too many feet, if like last year, hot and sunny.

They do suggest tho...come early REAL early...bring fluids, no alcohol, bring food, bring blankets, chairs, umbrellas...

If you arrive later, there will be shuttle buses available and parking OFF state grounds.

BBQ will be sponsored by "The San Jacinto Chapter DRT"

$12.00 will buy you BBQ (meat unknown assume brisket & sausage) potato salad, baked beans, etc , ice tea. Lunch will be under a tent with table and chairs.

They will FEED for FREE the sailors of the USS San Jacinto FIRST, so go out and thank the men and women who are fighting for our freedoms!

If you are interested in BBQ...send your check made out to: "The San Jacinto Chapter DRT" then MAILED to: S. Lightfoot - 15109 Lake View Dr. Houston, TX 77040-1328 (make a reference on the envelope for "DRT BBQ", send a self addressed stamped envelope for expediancy.)

THEY must have YOUR money NO LATER than April 12th...for them to turn around and mail back your tickets. No credit cards are accepted.

Well, we were there, but we couldn't find anyone. We didn't get out to the 'big tent' till around 1:30, and didn't see any Freeper types. We walked around for awhile, and didn't see anyone who looked like Freepers. Well, we had fun anyway, but we missed ya'll! Hope to see you next month!
