I believe that anything that is Un-American thrives in the darkness and cannot withstand the light of day.
I am surprised that so many important questions in need of answers for us to be a fully informed electorate, could come from Ted Rall. There are many more questions in need of answers concerning U.S. policy going back to the 1980's, yet I doubt Rall is as insistent towards them.
Nevertheless, we are on the verge of a vast expansion of foreign/military policy. It would benefit us to learn more of how this situation developed. Who made what mistakes and their consequences? In order to form more effective future policies.

"A year has passed since September 11th. Yet we, the American people, still don't know exactly what happened. There are still no plans for a public investigation of how more than 3,000 Americans lost their lives, what could have been done to prevent the attacks or reduce their impact. "
Need one read more?
"What did Bush know and when did he know it?"
Democratic propagandist or simply trying to make a buck of the 9-11 tragedy? You be the judge.
"Did Echelon cough up the 9-10 warnings?"
Yeah...

Apart from your obvious and well stated sarcasm. What is wrong with an investigation?
I think all politicians are covering their butts on this one. Yet I trust our democracy and our collective reasoning on to vote out the dead wood who let this happen. I would prefer more information to none!
I don't vote to let people tell me what to think.Probably you get my drift in that I don't trust professional politicians on either side of the aisle...

Nothing. But I believe that the dems would stall it just like they're stalling the investigation into Enron. In other words, it will backfire on them.

Talk about Monday morning quarterbacking! And I bet this same guy objects strenuously if there's even a hint of Middle Eastern profiling at airport security areas.
To: jern
Why didn't our Air Force shoot down the hijacked planes?Because people like you, Mr. Rall, would have raised such an outraged outcry over the American military industrial complex murdering innocent Americans.
To: rdb3
I'm not sure what you're saying. That Enron and 9-11 are similar? Please enlighten me..,
Please!

Apart from your obvious and well stated sarcasm. What is wrong with an investigation? Nothing, but hearings don't add up to an investigation. It wouldn't take twenty minutes from the opening gavel for the politicians to begin pummeling each other with inflated-goat-bladders-on-sticks, while Republican and Democrat party spokesmen excitedly pointed fingers at one another and the hearing committee itself carefully put together a conclusion that said nothing at all.
Sorry, but we'll just have to wait for the movie.

No, I'm not saying that Enron and 9/11 are similar.
What I am saying (with respect to your question about conducting an investigation) is that it will stall once the blame points toward the RATS. The same thing is happening right now with the investigation of Enron because the Senate committee will not call Rubin to testify because Rubin's involvement points directly toward Clinton, Lieberman, and other RATS.
That's all I'm saying.

A year has passed since September 11th. Yet we, the American people, still don't know exactly what happened. There are still no plans for a public investigation of how more than 3,000 Americans lost their lives, what could have been done to prevent the attacks or reduce their impactWhy is it that people just cant understand and accept that we were attacked ? And then just deal with it ....It makes no difference who attacked no difference why no difference where or when what makes a difference is IT HAPPENED and now its time to deal with it Pointing the finger at BUSH or CLINTON isnt going to bring back those people nor will it bring closure soon to those who lost loved ones
Nothing could have been done to prevent attacks Unless Clinton or Bush are mind readers! And if such evidence comes forward that either one knew someting was going to happen WHAT COULD BE DONE ?
I prayed for those who lost their lives on that fateful day and i still pray for those who have been devistated by the loss of their loved ones on that day But we must go on we must live as the people who are now in heaven would want us to live
The real truth is we have enemys as a country and as a nation nothing will stop that from happening because we are FREE and POWERFUL as a country and as a people But standing around pointing at people and casting expersions only serves to divide us as a nation

If I understand you right, we should not have an ivestigation because the Dems might hijack That is a reason not to investgate?
I believe as participatory member of this democraccy that information should not be denied me! I am an adult and can read between the lines.
I am in favor of more info rather than less info, not just because I might not like the outcome.
The American public is not stupid. Would you change your opinion after reading a slanted news article?
To: ATOMIC_PUNK
Why is it that people just cant understand and accept that we were attacked ? And then just deal with it .... Good point. I suppose that they could have started investigations after Pearl Harbor to find out "why" the Japanese felt compelled to attack us. But, then again, it didn't really matter, did it? We were attacked, and it was necessary to mobilize and respond, WITHOUT the constant second-guessing that we're seeing today.

Had the American people known more about the provocations of U.S. policy that produced the Japanese reaction, they might have insisted upon a "Japan first" war policy.
Just imagine the possibility of how much money could have been made and how many American lives could have been spared had we concentrated our forces in the Pacific?
There would have been no Communist China, thus no Vietnam, and quite probably the Nazis and the Soviets would have destroyed each other. Leaving a clear field for capitalist free-trade to envelope the planet by 1950.

Who locked the roof doors at the World Trade Center? During the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, hundreds of workers escaped smoke by going to the roofs. On September 11th hundreds died when they went up dozens of flights of stairs only to find those same roof doors locked. Why did city fire officials order those doors locked between 1993 and 2001, and more importantly, why didn't they post notices through the World Trade Center complex to advise that roof doors would no longer be unlocked? Prosecutions may be in order for criminal negligence.Um, Ted, the two buildings collapsed. Those located in the floors above where the planes crashed were doomed, not by locked doors, but instead by thick, choking smoke caused by burning jet fuel, which in turn was caused by CRAZED TERRORISTS CRASHING PLANES INTO THE BUILDING!
Any article with a byline of Ted Rall that features the word "truth" in the title should be ignored. Get a life, Ted.
