SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. (AP) - A tiger attacked a kindergartner at a school assembly Friday, sending the 6-year-old boy to a hospital.

The tiger was being led out of an auditorium at Baymonte Christian School by its trainer when it suddenly lurched over a row of seats and grabbed the boy by the head in its jaws, Scotts Valley Police Capt. Harry Bidleman said.

Well, I guess that explains it. Otherwise I'd have to argue that the AMs are arbitrary and capricious and that threads are exiled to Chat Siberia without due process.

That's not quite correct. In fact it is possible to "domesticate" a tiger, I've seen full grown tigers who worked with their trainers very well. However, they are extremely unpredictable beasts. One might be your best friend for life, another will be just as docile yet one day it turns on you. You just can't tell, they have their own agenda, and you don't know which one will or won't turn on you until the day comes when it does, or it dies of old age.

All in all I think the large cats are best left in the wild.

Well, the lawns are well manicured

I'll bet the carpets are clean as well. You can be sure they've got that problem licked.

Im really interested as to whether the handler was female. It follows from all the other nonsensical thinking.

The toddler-eater a couple of years ago.

The twirp-muncher earlier this year.

Now, I'm sorry, but the AM's have no choice but to exile this thread to some remote website.

I think that Doe Eyes was referring to the enviros and ethologists. If not, he/she should have.

Sometimes it's a little hard to "get" the humor here. Someone's little boy was attacked by a tiger, he is in the hospital, I presume, and we have no word of his condition, again, I presume. Let me just throw in a light-hearted prayer here, in keeping with our "sensitivities".

I keep forgetting that Carry_Okie's vastly inferior thread, which managed to escape the wrath of the Admin Moderators, fails to convey vital information carried in competing stories that were banished.

This from the AP

The boy received stitches for a cut along his hairline, according to Dr. Phillip Harter at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto.

``He's a very lucky young man. He's been up talking to us and smiling,'' Harter said. A CT scan found no other injuries, he said.

Once the press and the animal rights groups get to this story, it'll be discovered that actually he was mauled by a mean ol' SUV.
