I have only one small correction (or addition) to your post. Thomas Paine, Ben Franklin, and, to some extent, Thomas Jefferson were not Christians, like their colleagues, but neither were they atheists, by any stretch. They were deists who were raised in the same English, Christian thought as Washington, Madison, Henry and the others, and agreed wholeheartedly on the basic tenets, which, as you said, had their base in an enlightened understanding of the Christian Bible.

Islam has been debunked a hundred times over at FR [as if it's own followers havent debunked it enough].
It is a BS faith followed by idiots.
Stick that in your challenge pipe and smoke it.

I was wondering when you were going to show up! ;-)

Yes, I have seen those threads, and they had many VALID refutations of Islam. My personal view is that a reformation movement is LONG overdue in Islam. Many Christians do see Islam as a heretical faction (and Jews feel the same about Christians). But my point is that the mindless basbing of ANY kind must end. Only mind-numbed robots call people names. The enemy is ISLAMISM and LEFTISM, and the adherents to these false religions.

Yes, I see reason in viewing most Muslims with suspicion. One of my favorite quotes is "Trust is earned, not given away." But at the same time, Christians and Jews are called to love God with all their heart, etc. AND love their neighbor as they love themselves. Remember Jesus' response when He was asked "Who is my neighbor?" That is what we should keep in mind.

Islam is an intigrated religious/socioeconomic system; that is the Koran and other Islamic holy books contain not only religious dogma but extensive rules governing how Muslims must live their everyday lives and order their societies.

My understanding of Islam leads me to the inescapable conclusion that there is no way that a devout Muslim could ever wholeheartedly support the provisions of the U.S. Constitution.

To take it even further, what we understand to be American values must always be antithetical to the theology of most of the sects of Islam.

I too was so impressed by the Iraqi's who were at the rally. They moved me to tears, and I was so amazed by this that I cannot tell you. Never do we hear their side of things. The media doesn't ever give them the airtime. I wish that all America could have heard what they said, but of course, CSPAN felt they had to air the Anti-American Socialists rally TWICE before showing our rally the first time!

You're absolutely right, IMO.

In my post, I was trying to make the general point that one's religion ALWAYS affects one's thoughts and ideas. Only in this strange, irrational modern age have we tried to compartmentalize religion as a separate, unrelated, meaningless part of our lives, and our cultures.

There are some modern "Christian" sects, and some cults that have sprung from orthodox (small "O") Christianity, the devotees of which also cannot support he US Constitution. The devotees of Oprah Winfreyism, hedonism, communism, and other schools of "thought" also cannot support the Constitution. This explains why the US Constitution is disdained or ignored by the vast majority of Americans today, as the vast majority of Americans today have a worldview vastly different from our Founders.

the INS has to track down every alien, review their status, and throw them out if they shouldn't be here....bureacracy only exists when good people turn a blind eye...contrary ideology must not be tolerated...but that's just my opinion

this does not criticize all Muslims, but calls on Muslims to criticize their own brethren and sisters vehemently ... if not, then it's tacit approval ...

Wouldn't a Muslim say that of a Christian?

I think most of us here already understand this. There is a few of the "nuke 'em all" contingent here who happen to be very vocal, but most of us understand there is a difference.

The Islamists have really dirtied the waters and have ruined a perfectly good word. Now, the word Muslim is sort of a shorthand for "terrorist".

American Muslims have GOT to learn to speak up. They are the only ones who can defeat this rabid sect that hides amoung them. This is the US, they'll be protected, but they do need to stand up and start turning in these fanatics.

Let's face it, Americans for the most part like everybody. We only turn on someone when we've been really pushed to the wall. The good Afghanis, the good Iraquis and the good Iranians will have our support. We deserve theirs too.

Did you get the opportunity to see the Iraqi's who were at the rally? I think that when they stand up and show that they denounce terrorists we should give them the benefit of the doubt. I am not speaking about their religion, I am speaking about them as human beings who had the guts to say they love this country, and support President Bush in his insistence in deposing Saddam.

I missed the show but I am catching up on all the news reports about the Rally and the Iraq's that want Saddem gone too. I support and stand with them in that effort. Free the people from that killer Saddam and free the people from Islam. Convert em to Christ instead.

Yes, I've seen other sites along those lines. There are many names for God. His names is "Dios" in Spanish, "Dominus" in Latin, and even in English He has names like Lord, Father, etc. Allah is "God" in Arabic. If my understanding is correct, than Arab Christians must refer to God as "Allah." I'm not entirely convinced that Muslims are "moon deity worshippers" or "pagans." I'm not going to back down from my position just because someone disagrees vehemently against it. Yes, there has been silence by American Muslim leaders, but I think most of them have been corrupted by the vile strains of Wahhabiism and radicalism. All I'm asking for is a little reason and manners.

"My understanding of Islam leads me to the inescapable conclusion that there is no way that a devout Muslim could ever wholeheartedly support the provisions of the U.S. Constitution."

And that is the bottom line.

It is high time Americans [And I will say it...Caucasian Americans] get their heads out of their [clouds] and orientate themselves towards groups of people in full appreciation of their own ideaology and not simply our desires.

Perhaps the Nation of Islam can show other Muslims the way to go. Farrakhan said today that he is willing to boot the Beltway Sniper from the Nation of Islam because of acting in a manner opposite to the practice of Islam

My friend, if you think Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam can show anyone, Muslim or otherwise, a good way to go you are whistling in the wind. Louie is only doing some very obvious CYA, because one of his cultist adherents took things to the limit. The NOI is a racist, America-hating, anti-Semitic hate group - if their skin was white instead of black they would universally be lumped together with the KKK. Anyone who even for a moment gives them credence or respect is being shortsighted and unwise. Don't ever let your enemies seduce you - and unless you are an angry black Muslim with a desire for world domination and the subjugation of Jews and all whites, the NOI is your enemy and hates you.
