How dare you post actual quotes.

It won't have any effect on his feeble little brain. If he cant think of anything else he'll come back and call me mean spirited.

You fail to explain why Boeing shouldn't have manufacturing facilities overseas. You also fail to explain how you would prevent Boeing from establishing those facilities in the first place.

That's the problem with the we-are-doomed argument. It is half-baked.

Well, idiot child, the argument goes like this. Mulally says people in the United States have no right to a standard of living which he nearly dispises. It is that standard of living that buys tickets to ride on his airplanes and sustain his industry. Get it?

Gosh, you don't have to get mean-spirited about it . . . just answer my questions.

"is moving Boeing commercial aircraft production out of the country." - RLK

You've confused Boeing's obligatory establishment of manufacturing for a single component (out of millions per aircraft) in each of its overseas customers - with Boeing moving ALL AIRCRAFT PRODUCTION overseas.

Boeing is still building its aircraft here in America. Now, in the future, and as always in past, Boeing continues to set up small manufacturing operations in each client country, such that the client country can legitimately say that they helped build the aircraft in their fleet. This is an age-old Boeing policy.

But in no way, shape, or form does it mean that Boeing is no longer going to be building its aircraft here in America.

"Mulally, speaking to The News Tribune editorial board, said that with 70 percent of Boeing's commercial airplanes sold to airlines operating outside the United States, Boeing has an obligation to build parts of its aircraft overseas."

Posting quotes is fine, especially if you bother to actually read them...

-------------------------------

Boeing just laid off 32,000 people. The work is being sent out of the country. Boeing field that the airplanes produced here flew out of for delivery is being rumored to be converted to a site for condominiums. The deal is being negotiated. That's condominiums, no condoms. Read the God damed financial and industry news for Crist sake.

If you'll bother reading the news, what Boeing is doing is moving all aircraft production out of Seattle, not out of America.

The moves to set up production outside of America are for small aircraft components, not for entire aircraft assemblies.

There is no news anywhere that you can point to that says that Boeing has established an entire aircraft assembly facility overseas.

A component manufacturing operation in each client country, yes. An entire aircraft manufacturing operation overseas, no.

Know the difference and stop acting so hysterical.

"just laid off 32,000"

They didn't *just* lay them off, and the jobs did not go overseas. The jobs are gone because of production cuts due to the huge slump since 9-11.
And, Boeing isn't the only company that's made job cuts to get employment levels in line with production levels. Cessna, Raytheon, Bombadier and others have done the same.
Boeing is diverse enough (satellites, flight software, digital video, space exploration etc) that the drop in commercial aircraft production won't kill them (hopefully). They have won some new contracts which look good.
Of course it sucks. Many other industries where seriously hurt over the long term by 9-11 (and of course current economic issues). But for crying out loud, have some freaking faith in this country that we will survive and prosper. Positive action and forward thinking are what's needed, not a bunch of loser talk.

"How dare you post actual quotes."

That's okay, it can't mean a great deal. Today's media-bemused can't tell a quote from a quip. That's why some are still confused over the meaning of "is" and willing to remain led by those who continue to be.

I'm guessing that you consider yourself one of the few "intelligent" ones one this thread. If so, could you please respond to my two questions, namely:

1. why shouldn't Boeing have manufacturing facilities overseas, and
2. how do you propose to prevent Boeing from establishing manufacturing facilities overseas?

I wait with bated breath, O learnéd one. (Call your buddies if you need help).

Will America be a Third World country in 20 years?
It won't take that long if the right things are done.
Those things are being done.

Mulally, the CEO of Boeing has announced Americans are not entitled to a standard of living

I never thought I'd hear a "conservative" say that anyone was entitled to anything except through their own efforts.

Now I discover that Americans are actually entitled to "a standard of living."

It must be an emanation from one of those penumbra thingies hanging off of the liberal judicial activist's version of the 14th Amendment.

They're the only ones dumb enough to set up shop in a country with our ever-more insane legal system and malpractice insurance rates.
