Rally for America, Austin TX 3/1/03
3/1/03 | The Bat Lady

Posted on 03/01/2003 7:32:23 PM PST by The Bat Lady

What a wonderful day! The Bat Lady and hubby started off being in a parade for Texas Independence day and ceremonies at the Capitol then we stayed near the Capitol so we could attend the Pro-America Rally supporting our troops.

We got back to the grounds with flags and signs at 2:02pm and there were already quite a few gathered. Of course there were many American flags there and hand made signs each one different.

TheSarce brought at least 7 American flags and picked up her lost one from the Clinton
freep. A Vietnam Vet was holding it for the Clinton freep and didn’t know who it
belonged to so brought it to this one and figured that whoever owned it would show up
and claim it. I love Conservatives!!!

Talked to a beautiful lady from Ft. Worth who was with about 5-6 people. They had just
come from the SA rally and she thought there were about 8,000 there. That one was
moved to bigger places twice and still had a good showing!!! The best way to get some
media is to .... NOT SHOW UP. They would love to show empty seats and say we don’t
stand with Bush.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a good sized crowd--at least a couple hundred people there is what I would estimate. There were about 10 really lame peaceniks, but the Capitol Police kept them pretty far away from us. Of course, some from our side did engage them in a few shouting matches, but they were just plain pathetic--could only repeat slogans that they have been programmed to say.

Sorry Bat Lady, that you and your family couldn't join us for dinner and to watch The Sarces's video of the Bush Campaign, made by Nancy Pelosi's daughter. There were some very funny moments in it.

Thanks to everyone who came out on this gloomy, drizzly day in Austin. Let Freedom Ring!!

OK, it usually takes me 2 months to 2 years to get my pictures developed but this time I did one hour. My hubby Bill has put them on our web page and if you follow this link ( and I don't know how to link it) ALL my BEST pictures are there with comments. This will save FR bandwidth.

When you try to link something like that, DON'T use html (no paragraph or line break). Then the FR board will understand that is a link.

You are talking to someone who still hasn't graduated from using 110 film (1970's technology).

One of the speakers had us repeat some lines that reoccurred in his speech.... Thank God for the military....for the freedoms they give... with their sweat and blood.

He said that it is the soldier who guarantees our freedom of speech.... not the journalist. Thank God for the military....for the freedoms they give... with their sweat and blood.

It is the soldier who guarantees our freedom of religion... not the priest

Thank God for the military....for the freedoms they give... with their sweat and blood.

It is the soldier who guarantees our safety .... not the Austin City Council. GREAT ROAR OVER THE CROWD ... they passed one of those we don’t want war resolutions. Thank God for the military....for the freedoms they give... with their sweat and blood.
