Fistgate to be Held Again on March 15
MassNews ^ | March 7, 2003 | MassNews Staff

Fistgate IV will be held again on March 15 to teach teenagers how to play with the sexual organs of other students.

The first Fistgate was in 2000 and caused waves of protests from parents and others. It was exposed by the Parents Rights Coalition which taped part of the scandal so that people would finally understand what was happening, and by MassNews which reported it.

The homosexual community has said that its agenda was badly damaged by the scandal. It was almost unable to find a location for the event in 2001, but Tufts University finally did let them use its facilities again.

The sponsor of the event, GLSEN, an acronym for Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, says that the purpose of Fistgate is to teach safety and respect. But the event that was taped in 2000 went on for 55 minutes about explicit forms of homosexual sex, including thrusting your fist into another's rectum, before anything was even mentioned about condoms in the last five minutes.

Four years later in 2003, the Gay/Straight Alliance at Newton North High School, with the help of the state Dept, of Education, is handing out leaflets to students arriving at the school, which ask questions such as, "If you have never slept with a person of the same sex, how do you know that you wouldn't prefer that?"

It lists BAGLY as a resource for the teenagers to contact. In 1999, which was before Fistgate, MassNews reported that BAGLY offered $25 and free dinner to boys who would come to their headquarters in Boston and discuss homosexual sex and other issues. The boys were also invited to a free, three-day, lakeside, weekend retreat in New Hampshire with other "boys" up to 25-years, who are "attracted to or have sex with other men."

The following is printed on the Newton High pamphlets: "This project is supported by a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Education."

The state has been paying more than $1.5 million/year to help the Gay/Straight Alliances in the schools and similar activities. It is impossible to discover how much money is now going to those projects. Some of the money always went to GLSEN and it is assumed that much of it still does. <

"A review of the schedule of the conference workshops clearly shows that there are no sessions titled: “teach teenagers how to play with the sexual organs of other
students.” In other words, and not surprisingly, the MassNews has lied again."

If you listen to the tape of the original session, there was much discussion about playing with genitals, fisting, oral sex, and whether toungue piercings enhance oral sex. You are correct in stating that the title of the session did not mention any of this. I am not surprised that the upcoming conference does not contain these topics in session topics- why are you so sure that the same sorts of discussions will not take place?

One interesting session title in the original conference (the one originally named fistgate) was titled The Religious Wrong, and here is a quote from an article about the session:

"After his brief introduction, Mitchell showed a video to the audience containing hate speech against Christians and other people of faith. "The video was very disturbing," one teacher told Massachusetts News. "They showed various images and quotes from Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson to give the impression that their views were shared by all religious adversaries. It was an attack on all people of faith. Anyone who disagreed with Mr. Mitchell was labeled a homophobe and compared to Robertson and Falwell. Mr. Mitchell concluded after the video "This is who we are fighting! This is the religious right!""

The teacher said she thought the conference was supposed to be about safe schools and stopping discrimination. "To think that David Driscoll and the Department of Education would be preaching religious hatred to students and teachers under the pretense of safe schools was frightening. And they were using our tax dollars to endorse it. This was nothing more than a government -sponsored attack on religion and anyone who disagrees with the gay political agenda on the far left," she said.

At one point in the video they said "Studies show that lesbians are the best mothers in America. Are you interested in the truth Pat (Robertson)"? The teacher says she was shocked. "I have been teaching for over 25 years and I've been studying these issues for over a decade. I have never seen a study that lesbians make better mothers. I was traumatized by what I was seeing. What was really appalling to me was that no teacher in the room seemed to be bothered by what Mitchell and the video was saying. They just took it all in and accepted it as fact."

end quote

I understand your dislike for Massnews and I also do not care for their style or tendency to sloganize issues. But, without Massnews, there are many things (like the GLSN conference) that we simply would never hear about, at all, from any news source.

"They neglect to mention that the “parents” that taped the previous conference violated state statute and are defendants in an ongoing civil suit (such remedy is also
detailed in state statute), even though the MassNews itself recently published another editorial about that suit."

They are enjoined in a civil suit because no crime was committed, since the conference was a public event held using state funds. GLSN is bringing the civil suit, I think; correct me if I am wrong.

The "parents" and their organization was forbidden by court order to discuss the matter publicly, or to distribute the tape they had made, and the Mass Legislature was told that they could not discuss the matter either, at a time when the funding of the program was to be debated.

"If you listen to the tape of the original session..."

I've asked madg to listen to the tape and comment on sections of it, but he refuses to address it. His reply was:

"And the tape again? Oh, for Heaven’s sake, Ed, how many times are you going to post the same crap? It’s not "documentation" of anything aside from a few seconds of a workshop. That tape is forty-five minutes of propaganda by the two lawbreakers themselves. Give it up already."

And we wonder why God might withdraw some of or even a lot of His protection of this . . . grand land.

So, the "content' of the tape put families and children at risk? Your statement speaks volumns.

I also have a tape of the Susie Landolfi presentation. FCC rules won't allow much of that to be read or shown over the air. The young kids who sat through that performance and those who attended the session in question had no need to be exposed to the "information" presented or requested. Landolfi was presenting an AIDS prevention "show". The graphic nature of both sessions were and are inappropriate means of educating.

When taken out of the context of a voluntarily and deliberately attended workshop at a private conference?

Wasn't the conference titled "Safe Schools"?

It sounds like the title was out of context.

Can I get permission to tape the workshops?
The BSA doesn't object to the taping of their meetings?

If the content is worthy, let it proceeed in the light of day.

They were kids -- well-behaved schholkids -- a "purported" responsible ADULT stands in front of them, they would naturally be very reluctant to show disrespect and misbehaviour by getting up and leaving. Don't you agree?

Despite any feelings I have for the homosexual lifestyle, those that are against it clearly can't, or shouldn't, rely on this article for any kind of "proof" that there is an active amount of "recruitment" for the lifestyle in schools. Before you all flame me for being a, well, excuse the pun but a "flamer", I'm not "for" the homosexual lifestyle, nor do I think it should be taught in schools. That said, let's examine this from an objective standpoint, because you know that if you try and use this as "evidence" to convince others of any homosexual agenda in the classroom, they certainly will look at it objectively, if not hypercritically.

First, as L.N. Smithee said, the article calls this "Fistgage", but never refers to it by its real name. Hardly journalistic integrity. We, as conservatives gripe all the time (and rightfully so) about the LIBERAL bias in the mainstream media, and then we simply accept outright some CONSERVATIVE bias as ok? Is that intellectually honest?

Second, and after a cursurary (sp?) examination of this thread, I didn't see anyone notice that the article says:

The first Fistgate was in 2000 and caused waves of protests from parents and others.
Then it goes on to say:
Four years later in 2003, the Gay/Straight Alliance at Newton North High School...

Now, my math may be wrong here, or I may be missing something from the article (I've read it like 10 times to make sure I'm right here), BUT, HOW do they get that it was "four years later", when the FIRST one was in 2000, and THIS year is 2003?!? At the MOST, that's a 3 year difference, depending on how you count!

In conclusion, I'm sure there are more reputable sources of evidence suggesting a homosexual agenda in public schools. However, this would not be one of them, in my opinion. To take it as anything more than a poorly edited and obviously biased trash piece would be intellectually dishonest, at best, and hateful at worst.
