Come one, come ALL for what promises to be an UPLIFTING, JOYOUS Occasion fer one and All!! Richmond's Rally FER America's Line-Up!!

The Invocation
Rev. William Wagner will deliver our opening prayer. Rev. Wagner is Chaplain of the McGuire VA Medical Center. He is a former U.S. Marine.

Presentation of the Colors
The Benedictine High School Color Guard will present the flag.

The National Anthem
1140 WRVA's Scott Stevens will sing "The Star Spangled Banner."

Glenn Beck
1140 WRVA mid-morning host will deliver the keynote address. Glenn's theme: the greatness of America, and how we can re-capture the spirit that allowed earlier generations to overcome and accomplish so much. Click here for more information on Glenn Beck

Honored Veterans
During his speech Glenn Beck will recognize several area veterans,including Jim Herring, a Chesterfield County police officer and National Guard Green Beret who spent six months fighting in Afghanistan. Vietnam vets will be represented by John Setelin, who fought in the Battle of the Ia Drang Valley, which was depicted in the Mel Gibson movie, "We Were Soldiers."

Sam Berry of Glen Allen will represent World War II veterans. Mr. Berry was a U.S. Navy medic who landed at Normandy on D-Day and later served in the Pacific Theatre where he took part in the battle for Okinawa. One of his sons is a U.S. Army Ranger currently deployed overseas.

Joseph Roy, who served with the 82nd Airborne Division in Kuwait, will represent Gulf War veterans. He is still in the reserves and could be called to active duty at any time.

Good morning, Mud! Thanks for starting a thread.The rally sounds great! They've put together a fantastic lineup. We're going to have a great time showing support for our troops. Virginia must have thousands serving right now in one capacity or another, don't you think? I haven't heard of any other in the commonwealth yet, so this will be our first opportunity to get out and show some RED, WHITE, and BLUE for our men and women in uniform!

I told my 17 year old daughter to listen to Glenn Beck last week - she didn't know who he was. After one show, she got on the internet and found out about the Richmond rally, and now she's insisting that I take her, which I will of course do. See you there!

I will defintely be there, at my wifes request. She is a"recovering liberal" who was converted to our side by healthy does of Glen Beck logic administered via WRVA on her morning commute.

I was in a large meeting with the Adjutant General last week. MG Williams told us about Virginia Soldiers in this war, and others. I was moved.

These kids today FIGHT! Some have lost legs to land mines, etc, and have demanded that they be fitted with prosthesis, rehabilitated, and be sent back to action! There is absolutely no lack of "fighting spirit" on the part of our soldiers.

When they do start coming back wounded, some will be going to the VAMC in Richmond. That is one of the designated hospitals for long term care.

I recommend we try to start something where these guys know we care, and we give them all the support we can. They are the next "golden generation"

These kids are going to do us very proud in the near future. I dont have one doubt.

Excellent...I KNEW Central Virginny was packed with Patriots, you can tell by all the American flags waving from the pickups, and from the houses...I live in Chesterfield, but I see it in Hanover and Henrico and Richmond, folks around here just love this Country and are sick of the Leftists tearin' it down!!

The timing of this event is felicitous in that we will probably be in action in Iraq on that very day. Support for our troops, our nation, and our way of life could not take place at a more approriate moment in our history.

The Blennossians are actively recruiting and have been for several days. Someone should bring a digital camera to record the event for the FR achives.

Is there still an Armed Forces Network? If so, should they not be covering such occasions in order to show our countrymen overseas how much they are appreciated?

Mudboy Slim, my husband and I will be there and are looking forward to meeting some FReepers.(if you can believe this, I have not met another FReeper yet!) We live just down the street from Innsbrook Pavilion, and are officially offering our home for any FReeper who needs drink, food, or restroom stops. Can't wait to meet you guys and rally around our troops. We have 2 sons and one daughter-in-law in the military and know just how important it is to stand proudly in the face of this odious opposition that is taking place. See ya' next Sunday.
