Current Los Angeles Protests Turning Ugly (Thursday night)
FR | March 20, 2003 | self

Posted on 03/20/2003 7:04:50 PM PST by lainie

Gathered information from KFI radio, local television, and police scanner:

The idiots at the corner of Wilshire & Veteran are growing in number, cops are starting to fight back (hear a lot of "double time" and "need it yesterday"), and reports are that the crowd is starting to burn flags.

Before its newscast ended, KABC-TV showed riot-geared police pushing folks out of streets and onto sidewalks. The poor reporter was obviously shaken and quake-voiced. Looked ugly and sounds like it's getting worse as of 19:02.

Considering what Friscoites routinely and passionately take into their mouth's: What could possibly induce them to vomit?

Domestic wine?

Second that. Haven't seen a word about it on network news. They're getting all the attention they deserve.

anyone see the Simpsons episode where Homer gets a snow plow...he is day dreaming and imagines being at the whitehouse with Bush Sr. Bush tells him "I've got to get these documents out but those protestors are in the way.

So Homer says he'll take care of it and just plows through all the protestors outside the white out. outstanding.

I'm sorry, but this crap is really upsetting me. It breaks my heart to see these freeking morons act like a$$holes, when our military is busting a$$ to protect this country. I know they have the right to do this, but wtf, do they think it's going to stop the war? Give me a break.

"We want the money, the billions of dollars that they are already spending on the war to be spent on clinics, schools and books, creating real jobs," Ahuja said.

Clinics? Like those used to kill more innocent babies? Real jobs? Have any of these losers had a job? And I can't imagine how much it's costing us to have them protest! People can't get to thier jobs, cops on overtime, clean up crew ect. Really, I could cry, I just can't imagine anyone being this stupid...

Yes, it will get worse before better.

Whether now or 1-3 years from now.

Our land is invaded and inhabited with 20-40% of the population who have sold out their hearts, minds and souls to the enemy's philosophy to one degree or another.

They are not overly rational in their addictions to the enemy's deceptions and mentality.

They are more prone to being destructive for destruction's own chemical high than for any rational justification.

They are likely to invent justifications/rationalizations on the fly.

Yet, the weapons of our warfare are not human, if we are wise.

WILSHIRE & VETERAN?

I don't recognize that intersection, but if it's in Westwood, that means it's either at the Federal Building right off the 405, or at the VA hospital compound. Classy, protesting war at the VA hospital. Maybe they'll attack one of the blind or wheel-chair-bound vets I always see on the grounds there....

Federal Building is really big (40 stories and a big campus with a perimeter.) Doubtful, though, that security would allow any assembly there.

Maybe they just wandered over from UCLA....

Scanner: LAPD air unit just said people are pulling slingshots out of their bags;

Peacefull protesters equiped with Biblical weapons? Hmm, Sort of like The Great Leader Saddam firing Scuds he doesn't have, and was supposed to destroy 10 years ago, at US and British forces.

I hate to think what sorts of "stuff" they might be slinging about. Yuck!

You just watch: There are going to be more casualties from the "peace" protests than from the war.

That would be interesting. The peace movement having more casualties than the war.

BTW, I work at the intersection where the protests took place ... on the 25th floor. Yesterday I got caught in the middle of these jerks and couldn't get out of the building ... today they must have gotten going later. I work in the stockmarket and leave at 1pm when the market closes. But when they close that intersection it ties up traffic for miles as it is a major hub.

This reminds me of the riots that supposedly resulted from Rodney King

The Rodney King riots in LA were HUGR compared to this. These protests are fairly meager.

Leave 'em for the possums.

Possums wouldn't touch 'em. Some of the turkey vultures we have around here might, if they have especially strong stomachs.

And the bay area is any better? You got protesters up there puking in the streets. Oakland has riots after losing the superbowl. This kind of thing is happening everywhere. Don't give me that LaLa Land shit. There are many conservatives here that don't buy it.

Yes -- that's it. At the federal building near the 405 freeway. The veteran's cemetery is across the street.
