Operation Infinite FReep/ Rally for America in FResno, California 3/21/03
3-21-03

Posted on 3/22/2003, 8:34:26 AM by mtngrl@vrwc

Tonight's FReep of the peaceniks in Fresno, California, was a heck of a lot of fun! Approximately one hundred and twenty (yes, you read that right!) FReepers and patriots showed up to support our troops and their commander-in-chief. We had two bullhorns going at times tonight with cheers being said almost continually. The response from those driving by was overwhelming! Fresno supports the military, our president, and the War Against Terrorism. Among those who were able to attend tonight's FReep were:

We had some members of the Riverdale Assembly of God church join us again tonight. Some people who showed up tonight had heard about us on a local radio station.

One man had a stack of papers with pictures of Saddam that had a bulls-eye superimposed over it which he handed out to the motorists who were stopped at the light. They were a huge hit! There was also a car that had a "bomb" attached to its roof that said "Bombs over Baghdad" (see picture below) and the people in it stopped and joined us. Channel 47 News came by tonight to see some of us break our Dixie Chicks CDs. After the FReep, some of us went to dinner at IHOP. All in all, a great time was had by all!

Thanks to all who were able to make it this evening. If any FReepers attended tonight's FReep and I didn't mention your name, please forgive me and let us know that you were there. To those who weren't able to join us, we missed you and hope to see you soon!

Wow! The crowd really grew after we left! How exciting. It was wonderful to be there after so long an absence, although I had forgotten how angry the anarchists across the street made me!
I did get to express my displeasure at their stance as we left, and one of the whimpy men started to come at me, but the light changed and he nearly got ran over by an oncoming car!(All I said was, "Shame on all of you!" )

Sorry I missed Mama_Bear and JKPhoto, hope to be back next week. I am so proud of our troops, our President, and all of you who participated in tonights terrific rally!
God Bless our Troops!

HONK!

120! Whoa...you guys are a beacon of light for your town. Just awesome!
Thanks for troop support. 03/16/2003 - armymarinemom:
I got a phone call from the sand box this morning. My son said that news of rallies to support our troops has reached Kuwait. He asked that I thank everyone involved because support from home means the world to our troops.

Way to Go FResno!! Another fantastic FReep, I'll bet the leftists across the street are feeling pretty low right now. Thanks for the inspiration!!

T-minus 3 1/2 hours until we start a series of seven (that's right, seven) FReeps here in Colorado this weekend. We may be low in numbers, but we are a determined little bunch. The public just loves to see us out there so it's not hard to get fired up and FReep.

Thanks Jim Robinson for the FANTASTIC forum we have to share the news. I have been passing the word of this website to all the troops and families of troops I meet and the word is spreading. There are big grins all around!!
All the Best.

Thanks for the report!!! It was a great freep! For the record, the other side called the police and accused me and the young man with the "Disarm Saddam" sign of assault. Good grief! See, me and this guy went over to their side and yelled at them. Well, he also kind of bent over and semi-mooned them. Anyway, I yelled at every single one of those morons: "Where were YOU when Saddam murdered the Kurds?!" Stuff like that. Also, for some unknown reason several of THEM were wearing masks and I pulled every one off their disgusting faces asking, "Why are you hiding?" And there stood the "burqa lady" big as you please hiding inside her "body bag"! We have encountered her before and named her "burqa lady". She hates our guts. LOL! She got a tongue lashing. The media showed up but I don't trust the media. They can kiss my butt. Last night I have never been so proud to be an American. The traffic was definitely with us. The honks and thumbs up and screams of support were breathtaking. God bless our Troops and God bless America. For victory & freedom!!!

Seven Freeps! Way to go!
Small in number, but you Colorado Freepers are at the top of my list when it comes to rallys. We steal (borrow) a lot of your signs and your reports are so inspiring!
Go get 'em Colorado!!!!!

Way to Go FResno FReepers!!!

The VFW up here in Modesto has organized a rally at 11 am today at Vintage Faire Mall, Sisk Rd. and Standiford Avenue. The antis have a protest scheduled at noon - same location. Could get interesting. I'll be there and maybe HDRider and fxrdeb to join these patriots.

The Modesto Bee has an article this morning with the announcement and interviews with several VFW members.

As an aside, the CHP incident report available on the Web, states that the antis gathered on Briggsmore and McHenry on Thursday night. Person reporting the incident to CHP stated there were 500 gathered and rocks were being thrown by the "peace advocates."

I'll be there today with video cam - just in case.

So many people joined us last night that the number of pictures taken may be overwhelming. Hey ....... we didn't want to miss anyone!!
In the above pictures the 5th picture is ironman4262. (Sorry we didn't identified you last week, ironman.) It was wonderful to see Ladyinred, Chadsworth, Gracie1 and FriendAnn last night. We missed those who were unable to come by. Hope you can come back next week.

Jim and Leonard

Sheila

Gracie1 (Welcome Back!! It was so good to see you again.)

FriendAnn (Welcome Back ... we missed you!)

The Dixie Chick Stomp!!

The turnout last night was awesome.
The Riverdale Assembly of God Youth Group will be at Patriot's Corner tonight. Some of them stopped by last night but they are planning to be 100 strong tonight. If anyone can attend, please help FR make a showing. Thanks.

Great pictures, Amy and mtngrl! But, isn't our corner a mess? It will sure be nice when they get it paved.

Nice to freep again with you, Gracie and Saundra. It was a good one last night, wasn't it? What a wonderful display of patriotic pride......very energizing!

Tame, it was great to finally get to meet you and to see Martha again. It will be later this afternoon before I am able to get jk's photos posted, but I will be sure to ping you again when I do. Hope you had a nice birthday celebration after the rally....and I hope you will come back and rally with us again. :-)

I was there too, though only for awhile. I'm glad my sign (Peace Happens when the Good Guys WIN!) got used more. One thing that wasn't mentioned was that a Muslim woman in an SUV with a couple of kids leaned on her horn when she drove by and saw the signs. Serious! She had the headgear and everything.

This was my first time counter-protesting, and I hope I can stay longer next time. BTW, anyone going to the one at noon by Riverpark? There's supposed to be an anti-war march down Blackstone.

Stop by and view our photos. The turnout was mind-boggling. People stopped and participated ..... some for 15 to 30 minutes, others for 2 to 3 hours.

We did not leave our corner until almost 8:00 last night due to the many people who continued to stop by.

Channel 24 did live coverage of the Dixie Chick Stomp at 6:00; I'm sure many people came by after seeing us on the news. A couple of volunteer policeman stopped and came over to thank us and give us some encouragement.

I know we missed identifing some FReepers. One young gentleman stopped for half hour or so. Last week, he told me his screen name but I've forgotten it. (Darn it.) He left his sign with me last night; I told him I would bring it back next week but it was passed around so much that I lost track of it.

I did not get a picture of tame and his mother, but it was so good to finally meet tame and to see his mother again.

There was a very short article on page A13 of today's Fresno Bee about the CD crushing. Also, an article regarding the confrontation on the Fresno State Campus yesterday. A dozen or so traitors showed up at the Pro-American Rally on campus to prove how non-peaceful the peacenics really are. The confrontation was shoving and disruptions by the traitors. (Ironman4262 made the article)
