But she said her son had expressed concerns about being a Muslim in the Army. "He said, Mama, when I get over there I have the feeling they are going to arrest me just because of the name that I have carried."

I wouldn't believe a word that comes out of his dear mama's uneducated mouth.

Thanks, Sarah - pinging Grampa Dave and DennisW, who are really good at tracking things like this.

The Saudi funding is very interesting. Many thanks for this great research.

Thanks to both of you for sharing this data re Jihad in America.

I look at them like cooking frogs in boiling water. You just increase the temp a little at a time. By the time they realize that they are being cooked, it is too late for them.

I read some where else, that the Army would not accept this guy for Gulf War 1. The USA should know even better today.

..what the f#&k does "had California ties" mean or have to do with anything?....

If you ask me, it's the last piece of the jigsaw. :)

I wonder if his first name isn't really Marcus.

Marcus (Garvey)

You're right, what intelligent person couldn't see that "California ties" have to be the root of this radical muslim's problems...Anyone with "California ties" should be kept away from airports and certainly screened out of the military in a Middle Eastern war.

California bashing is, if not getting idiotic, wearing a little thin Byron.

I know that mate but what's with the hair trigger temper lately? You'd never remember, but you were the first person to welcome me to FR. And you had a pretty sunny online disposition then. I'm dismayed at the change and would like to see a bit more of the old Lewislynn. Cheers, By

What in the devil are you talking about?

Uh, if you don't understand what I said, I think you are in no position to say what is and is not good Latin.

Akbar, who graduated from Locke High School in Los Angeles, was a graduate of the University of California, Davis, where he had a double major of aeronautical science engineering and mechanical engineering, spokeswoman Linda Lapin said.

WRONG. He had a single major, and in nine years, earned only a single degree from the Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering Department at UC Davis

I suspected the double major was incorrect. He barely got though, taking 9 years to graduate.

I just saw that posting.

Shows how dumb the American Blacks are who become Black Muslims in America.

I guess that slavery under the Arabs was okay for blacks.

My son, who hires and fires engineers, said that the 9 years showed an affirmative action engineer. Which is why he is a sargeant in the military. His engineering knowledge wouldn't enable him to make a Lego bridge.

Anyone who takes more than 5 years to get a degree has all types of warning flags out.

Good grief. I haven't taken Latin since I was in high school, 35 years ago. Why you are so anal and defensive about such a trivial matter is beyond me. I am not a Latin scholar, and never claimed to be one. Geez. Give it a rest.
